After folding "Disinformation Board" biden regime funds left-biased "disinformation site"
Heard of a thing called "NewsGuard"? It's a New-York-based outfit that bills itself as "The internet trust tool," and claims to rate over 9,000 media outlets on what it calls their "reliability"--meaning how well outlets parrot the left/Democrat line. They sell their faaabulous service in a dozen western nations.
Here's how the organization's website describes itself:
>>We help you decide which news sources to trust.
[We give] you all the context you need as you read news.>>
Ahhh, "context," y'say.
Their website claims they "provide *transparent tools* to counter misinformation for readers, brands, and democracies."
Newsguard claims their ratings "are deployed to...enable brands to advertise on quality news sites and avoid propaganda or hoax sites, and to provide media literacy guidance for individuals..."
Ahh, "media literacy guidance for individuals," y'say.
They assure you their ratings of media sources "are written by trained analysts with journalism experience." Wow! Not only are dey "trained" (in leftist propaganda) but dey haz "journalism" experience. That's sure reassuring, eh?
So let's see how the the self-proclaimed "internet trust tool" does for trust.
Turns out there's a far less biased site called All Sides that rates news sources as either "left," "leans left," "right" or "leans right." Someone matched those calls against how Newsguard rated each.
Can ya guess what happened, citizen?
Sure ya can: the taxpayer-funded, leftist "trust tool" (i.e. a censorship site) overwhelmingly gave left-leaning outlets far higher "reliability scores" than right-leaning ones.
As an indicator of the utter worthlessness of this POS site, they gave *perfect scores* of 100 to the Washington Post, USA Today, and Politico. Yet three weeks before the stolen election, when the contents of a laptop abandoned by Hunty biden were found to contain 30,000 damning emails and 10,000 damning photos, all three of those outlets that the self-proclaimed "internet trust tool" Newsguard gave perfect scores to claimed the laptop story was a fake--"Russian disinformation."
Ooohhh, *very* trustworthy, eh?
Yet Newsguard bills itself as the arbiter of what sources we're to trust?? Are you kidding?
Indeed, NewsGuard co-CEO Steven Brill joined CNBC just before the 2020 election to sneer that the story about Hunty's laptop was "a probable Russian hoax."
While the Post, Politico and USA Today that falsely claimed the laptop story was a hoax got perfect "reliability ratings," Newsguard gave conservative outlets like The Federalist a score of 12.5 out of 100.
In another example of NewsGuard's double standard, the organization gave "Not the Bee" a score of 63 "in part because it supposedly 'does not disclose that the site advances a conservative perspective that is apparent in its content,'" MRC reported.
How many left/liberal outlets "disclose that they advance a leftist perspective, eh?
The goals of the assholes who founded Newsguard were to use its ratings to force wokie corporations to stop advertising on those sites, by claiming they were source of "misinformation." The twin goal was to get Americans to stop clicking on conservative sites.
MRC says NewsGuard--clearly a political arm of the left--it receives hundreds of thousands of dollars a year from biden's Department of Defense.
Average citizen: "Why is that funding coming from the DoD?"
It's because a year ago the biden regime briefly established exactly the same function--called the "Disinformation Governance Board"--under the ghastly Dept of Homeland Security.
The move set off a firestorm of protest, and the regime backed off--because they knew Newsguard was already filling the function they wanted.
Oh, Newsguard also gets money from Big Pharma, likely to discredit low-cost non-pharma cures for things.
Can't have *that,* eh?
