Bidenfail promised to re-fill hundreds of millions of barrels of oil he sold from the SPR. How's that going?

One of the Democrats' top-priority goals is to kill all oil and gas in the U.S.  They've actually announced that, but promised to do it far enough in the future that no one balked.

Now, since they've committed to do that, why would we need all that oil in our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, right?

So starting six months before the critical 2022 mid-term elections--with gasoline at a record high price--the bidenharris/Dem regime began selling a million barrels of oil a DAY from the SPR.  Biden even sold nearly a million barrels of our "strategic reserve" to a Chinese state-controlled company.  Wow.

Amazingly, a few cranky deplorables--a.k.a. "domestic violent extremists"--thought that was a really bad idea, and objected.  So the regime quickly moved to assure voters (i.e. to lie) that "Don't worry, deplorable!  Dear Leader pledges to *buy* oil to re-fill the SPR back to its original level!  See?  You got everyone upset about *nothing!*

The regime said that replenishment would begin last December.  So how's it going?

Nearly eight months later, the total amount of oil put back in the SPR is...wait for it...zero.

But don't worry, deplorable!  Cuz in May Dear Leader's faaaabulous Energy Department --headed by the corrupt, incompetent Jenny Granholm--announced its "intent to purchase" up to three million barrels.  They even lied that this was a "continuation of the president's replenishment strategy"--when in reality it was the first offer to purchase.

So how'd that work?

You may be surprised to learn that the Democrats have yet to restore a single barrel to the "reserve."

The administration first tried to purchase three million reserve barrels in December.  But a month later the Energy Department revealed it had rejected all offers it received to purchase oil.

If Biden's Energy Department does manage to fulfill the new plan it announced in May, the oil would be delivered to the reserves in August, meaning Biden would have replenished just three million barrels in eight months.

At that rate it would take 40 years to restore the 180 million barrels biden sold to win votes in the mid-term elections.

And I know you'll all be surprised to learn that due to mumble mumble bullshit bullshit, the
Energy Department has "cancelled the contracts" to buy oil that they'd agreed to after the May announcement!

The faaabulously incompetent Jennifer Granholm's office didn't return a request for comment, but the office confirmed that the administration will be unable to refill the reserve to the level when shit-for-brains was installed.  In March Granholm admitted "To refill the full amount is impossible."

Wait...didn't shit-for-brains absolutely assure voters he would re-fill the SPR--that he didn't just gut the reserve to help his party win votes?

Why yes, yes he did.  Hmmm...

Wyoming senator John Barrasso, the top Republican on the Senate Energy Committee, said "Joe Biden doesn't intend to refill the SPR. He just wanted to fool voters."

When Biden took office the SPR held 638 million barrels of oil.  It now holds just 362 million.  But don't worry, deplorable!  Biden's Energy Department is bragging that "significant progress toward replenishment."

Wow, that's reassuring news, eh?  They claim that progress will come from canceling congressionally mandated sales of 140 million barrels between 2024 and 2027.

Wait...362 million barrels now, plus 140 million from *not* selling oil from 2024 to 2027...I'm getting 502 million.  But didn't ya say the SPR held 638 million when shit-fer-brains was installed?

Why yes, that's true.  But Democrats are used to the idea of "close enough that we'll call it true," and of course the Mainstream Media slobberingly agrees.

For a month or so last May, oil was selling for  $72 a barrel.  So since the biden regime had gloriously announced it would buy oil for the SPR if oil prices dropped to that price, naturally they bought 50 million barrels, right?

Hahahahahahaha!  You still don't get it!  They have no intention of filling it back up.  That was horseshit from the beginning, to keep the rubes (you) from thinking bidenfail was just selling oil to drop the price of gas to buy votes.

Amusingly, way back in the spring of 2020, when covid lockdowns killed the demand for oil, causing the price to crash to $15 bucks a barrel, congressional Republicans tried to fill the reserve to its capacity--but senate Democrats blocked the plan, attacking it as a "bailout for big oil."

Wow, $15 bucks a barrel?  If we'd bought 50 million barrels then, we could have sold some of that at a huge profit when oil jumped back up to $80, eh?  But...ooohhh, too bad.  Thanks, Democrats.

BTW, today (August 12, 2023) oil is $83 per barrel.  But don't worry, deplorable, cuz as soon as it goes back down to $72 again, Jenny's agency will jump right on it to restore our Strategic Reserve.  Yep yep yep.

Count on it, deplorables!
