bidenharris regime intervenes to delay or block FOIA requests revealing censorship
Democrats deny the biden regime has ever pressured social-media giants like Twitter (pre-Musk) and Fakebook to delete posts the regime didn't like.
Really? Hmm.... Turns out the the biden regime has *lots* of ways of hiding censorship by paying universities to do the job. Specifically, DHS has a Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) that gave tax dollars to a University of Washington professor who also heads a “disinformation” outfit at the university (funded by the government).
So if the prof at UW--supposedly an unbiased "expert" on "disinformation"--DECREES that a post you made is disinfo, and social media deletes it, duh regime piously says "We din' do nuffin'! Dis decree came from a totally independent professor/expert! See?"
Emails released under FOIA suggest that the biden regime is quietly using universities to resume censoring online speech they claim is “misinformation,” thus hiding the regime's role.
The newly released emails concern events last September when some journalists and civil rights advocates were investigating the role of the notoriously totalitarian Department of Homeland Security in pressuring social-media sites to delete posts the regime didn't like.
But in classic fashion biden's Department of Justice has intervened to prevent the release of any incriminating public records.
Several conservative outfits filed FOIA requests asking about DHS funding given to University of Washington professor Kate Starbird, who was paid by DHS to “moderate” -i.e., censor– some types of content on pre-Musk Twitter and Facebook.
But a day after the requests were made, the Assistant US Attorney for the Western District of Washington emailed Starbird saying “We would ask to have an extension of time before the records are produced so that we can have time to review them and assess whether we’ll have to file suit to protect them from disclosure."
Unless you're an attorney you almost certainly don't understand what that really means. "We would ask to have an extension of time before the records are produced" translates to "Before you provide any records, we want to review them." That means the biden regime knows there's something in Starbird's records that the regime doesn't want the public to know.
Given Starbird's function for DHS, this most likely means the regime has been using UW and Starbird to do a lot more censoring than has been revealed so far.
Democrat: "Dat jus' fine. See, we can't allow pipo to jus' say whatevah dey like on social media, cuz dey cud find out whut we doin'--an' we don' want dat."
Just for fun, imagine how the Media would have reacted if Trump's DHS had paid universities to censor Democrats on social media--and then refused to release emails proving it. The Media would have screamed bloody murder. But with bidenharris? Totally fine.
