Maine Doctor Ordered to Undergo Psych Evaluation for Prescribing Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine

Dr. Meryl Nass is a 70-year old doctor from Maine.  She's testified before congress on vaccine effectiveness and explained scientific studies for courts.

Last month the Maine board that controls medical licensing suspended her medical license and ordered her to comply with a long list of conditions to get her license back, including undergoing a psychiatric evaluation, listing every patient she's seen in the past 6 months, answering a long list of questions about her medical beliefs, even telling how she advertises her practice.

Nass, who has been in practice for 41 years, called her suspension “a tyrannical witch hunt.”

“The whole purpose of suspending my license was to scare doctors around the country to keep them from going against the government’s narrative that the COVID vaccine and mask mandates are good,” Nass told The Epoch Times.

Members of the state license board did not return numerous phone calls from The Epoch Times for comment about Nass’s case.

Nass joins doctors and physician assistants in at least 10 states including Kansas, Florida, Hawaii, Washington, Texas, and Arkansas who have either had their license suspended or were investigated by their state’s medical license board for saying things the biden regime didn't like.

According to official documents, the Maine board suspended Nass's license to practice medicine because of three legal prescriptions she wrote for ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19.

The board also accused Nass of "spreading misinformation” through her blog, claiming it "posed a danger to the public.”

The board originally gave Nass until Feb. 1 to obey its order that she undergo a psychological evaluation-- *by a psychologist chosen by the board and paid for by Nass.*

This is a level of tyranny formerly reserved for Russia and China.

The board further DECREED (unilaterally) that “Failure to undergo the evaluation as ordered constitutes an admission of the allegations against her.”  Of course that's horseshit, and is the kind of thing routinely done by totalitarian countries.

Nass emphasized that prescribing Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine is not against any law, but for unspecified reasons the state board has decreed that prescribing either one is unethical.

In a joint statement issued last April, the board wailed that prescribing "alternative drugs" to prevent or treat COVID-19 might lead to stockpiling of those drugs, "inappropriate use, and potential drug shortages for patients with a legitimate need for the medication."

“These are made up policies from nowhere,” Nass said.  “This should be a wake-up call to Americans that government—from local towns to state boards—is using them to replace the law and the Constitution.”

Nass said she fears her days as a doctor in Maine are over, and she suspects the board may try to make it impossible for her to be licensed in any other state.

Nass said she's learned the board has already submitted her name to the National Practitioner Database, which supposedly lists discredited doctors.
