Do all Americans have the right to a speedy trial? The right to post bail? If so, where did that idea originate?

Virtually everyone reading this was raised in this country, and 95% of you attended public schools.

IF we assume that the purpose of universal K-12 public schools is to produce well-educated, productive citizens (which was indeed the original goal a century ago, but no longer is), and that you paid attention (uh...), then you can easily answer the following questions:

1. What is the "supreme law of the land?"

If you said "the Constitution" you get credit for having paid attention thru highschool.  Unfortunately--as we're finding out to the dismay of freedom-loving Americans--Democrat politicians have succeeded in repeatedly violating the "supreme law of the land," and no one has challenged them for doing so.  So they keep doing it--and every time, no one challenges them.

Question 2: Does our Constitution--which was once considered the "supreme law of the land"--guarantee every American a "speedy trial"?

Take your time on this one.

Of course the answer is yes, and extra credit if you knew it's the Sixth Amendment:

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed... and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.  --6th Amendment

That language seems perfectly clear and unambiguous, eh?  The supreme court [spit] has held that "the right to a speedy trial... is one of the most basic rights preserved by our Constitution."  That was as recently as 1967, so one might think Americans still have that right, eh?

Hold that thought a minute.

Question 3: Does the Constitution guarantee the right of an accused person to post bail?

Take your time.

The Eighth Amendment--adopted in just over 230 years ago--states: “Excessive bail shall not be required...."

Now...neither of these Amendments--part of the Bill of Rights--has ever been repealed, so you'd think they were still in force, eh?

But under the biden*harris regime, these are no longer enforced: the corrupt Deep State that installed the utterly, thoroughly corrupt biden*harris regime has imprisoned over a hundred of the folks who entered the capitol building on January 6th without trial, and have refused to set ANY bail.  Although most  have only been charged with trespassing, they're still in the Metro-DC jail almost a year later.

At a time when corrupt DA's are releasing thieves and muggers the same day they're arrested, without requiring them to post any bail at all, the January 6th protesters have not been given the opportunity to post bail, and their cases haven't gone to trial after 11 months.

It's an outrage.  Imagine how the Lying Media would have reacted if Trump had jailed leftist rioters, looters and arsonists for a year without trial or bail!  The Media would have screamed bloody murder.

Now follow me through here:  Since the 8th Amendment clearly states that "excessive bail shall not be required," not allowing a reasonable bail amount for trespassers would seem to clearly violate that right. Yet the Americans who entered the capitol are still in the DC jail, almost a year after they entered the capitol.  How can this be allowed, since the Constitution demands "no excessive bail"?

(And I'm fully aware that some asshole communist Democrat will bleat "We din' violate no Constitutional rights, cuz duh bail wudn't 'excessive,' eh?  Cuz dere weren't no bail at all!  Yuk yuk!"

And yet as they languish in jail, without being allowed to post bond, dozens of other people KNOWN to have urged demonstrators to enter the building--including a man named Ray Epps--have never been jailed or charged.

That's because the folks not charged were all paid by the FBI and DOJ.

But that's a topic for another day.  The point today is that the Deep State in the DOJ and FBI have grossly violated the Constitution's Bill of Rights--specifically the 6th and 8th amendments.  And no one in power has said a single critical word.
