Tale of a fully-vaxxed population

Hey, citizen, have you been fully vaxxed yet?  You really need to do that, cuz just like all other "vaccines," this one prevents you from getting duh deadly Chyna virus.  PLUS, if you're vaxxed you can't spread the virus to others!  Is that a great deal or what?!

Wait...what story?  You mean the one that says 

Gibraltar has cancelled official Christmas events and urged people to avoid gatherings to combat an “exponential” spike in COVID cases despite its entire adult population being fully vaccinated.

Okay, saw that.  What's your point?

Well, 100% of the residents of Gibraltar are fully vaxxed.  The entire population of the territory has been fully vaccinated for almost six months.  So if the vax works, why would they need to cancel Christmas events and urge people to avoid gatherings?

Yeah, that's what we thought you'd say.  The health minister says they've had “a drastic increase in the numbers of people testing positive for Covid-19 in recent days.”

Similarly well-vaccinated countries have also reported surges in Covid-19 infections recently. In Singapore, where 94% of the eligible population have been inoculated, cases and deaths soared to record highs at the end of October, and have since subsided slightly. In Ireland, where around 92% of the adult population is fully vaccinated, cases of Covid-19 and deaths from the virus have roughly doubled since August.”

If only we could get more people to take  the vaccine, everything would be great.  But for some reason those selfish unvaxxed extremists refuse to obey!
