9.5 million unemployed. 9.2 million job openings. No takers because the Dem regime has made it more attractive to stay home

According to the federal gruberment's Labor Department, as of May there were 9.2 million job openings--a record high.  At that same moment 9.5 million Americans were officially registered as not having a job.

Wait...if companies are advertising 9.2 million jobs, why haven't 9 million of those officially claiming to be without a job taken one?

Simple: By signing a bill that increased unemployment benefits by $1,200 per month, the biden*harris regime has made it more attractive for unemployed Americans to stay unemployed.

Think about it:  Thanks to your cunning Democrat rulers, your tax dollars (or if you're a student, your parents' taxes) are being used to pay 9 million people to sit at home instead of taking one of the 9.2 million available jobs.  If it's more attractive to stay home, why would any of 'em bother to look for a job?

Wait, I hear my liberal friends saying this claim is nonsense--tinfoil-hat conspiracy stuff--because people with a job make more money working than by collecting unemployment and welfare.  Oh, of course.  But what you marvelous low-information biden*harris voters don't consider is a thing called "differential."  So I'll explain:

To make the numbers easy let's say a 20-something American could take a fast-food job making the federal minumum wage for working 40 hours a week.  After deducting federal and state income taxes (remember those?) and "social security" (cryptically labelled "SSRI" on most pay stubs) and payments into medicare, the average worker actually ends up taking home roughly $200 per week (depending on # of dependents and income of spouse, if any).  Not bad for an entry-level job.

But thanks to the biden*harris regime, NOT taking a job can net this same person $180 to $240 per week, depending on which state the person lives in.

So at worst, our hypothetical 20-something would lose twenty bucks a week--but in exchange for not having to get up, suit up and work 8 hours a day.  You'd have to be dumb not to take that deal, eh?  And in many cases young people pocket MORE cash by not working.

Tell me, biden*harris voters:  How many people would bother to apply for a job if they could stay home and pocket either the same or more money?  Ain't worth it.

Oh, are you gonna counter that getting a job makes people feel...what, "personal pride"?   More independent?  More capable?  Certainly that *should* be true.  But how many young Americans buy into that anymore, eh?  In fact it's exactly the opposite:  *Most* young Americans think anyone who would work 40 hours a week for an extra 20 bucks is dumb!

It all hinges on the "differential," comrade.  And in their never-ending quest to buy votes, biden*harris made that differential so small that it isn't worth getting a job.

By the way, what does that extra 20 bucks a week for 40 hours of work a week work out to on an hourly basis, eh?  No calculators allowed.  If you got that answer in under 30 seconds, congratulations.  If you didn't, you almost certainly support the Dem party.

We have arrived at this point in history because the cunning people running the biden*harris regime knew that offering people the chance to sit at home and collect a government check instead of having to work for a living would win them millions of votes.  It was part of what the regime called the "American Rescue Act," which gave an extra $300 per week to everyone collecting unemployment.  That will run until September--unless the regime extends it yet again.  The plan also included various other handouts that are making it a more attractive to not work.

Democratic party outlets like the New York Times and Washington Post claim the reason so many jobs are un-filled is NOT due to the Dem bribe, but simply that people don’t want to take low-wage jobs with “terrible” working conditions.  Obviously people want to be paid lots of money to work, but the claim by the shills ignores something most rational people instinctively know – that getting paid not to work is addictive.

So-called "progressives," Mainstream Media shills, Democrat congresswhores and leftist agitators claim the federal government should just pay people to sit home and watch television.  Seriously.  If you think that's hyperbole you evidently haven't heard about the huge push by Democrats for a thing they call "universal basic income"--cunningly disguised as "UBI."  Under that scheme, the gruberment would pay everyone between $1,000 and $2,000 every month to...not work.

Seriously, they've proposed that.  And they've been testing that in places like Stockton, California.

Many philosophers have claimed that work builds character.  Biden himself has told the story of his father telling him “A job is more than a paycheck,” that it’s about “respect, dignity, your place in the community.”  But somewhere along the way our schools stopped teaching this.  Apparently they thought pushing gay sex and sex-changes and "critical race theory" were a lot more important than teaching students the character-building value of holding a job.

Not surprisingly, the message that you don't need a job was eagerly embraced by students who're smart enough to understand the concept of "differential."
