Mercedes-Benz uses bloodthirsty commie murderer Che Guevara to launch new car--morons ignorant of history

Few Americans under 30 know jack about Che Guevara.  Many have seen supposedly-"hip" college-age students wearing red T-shirts with his pic, but that doesn't help a bit.

Short answer: He was a communist who attached himself to Fidel Castro, and used that power to personally execute hundreds of young Cubans (and a few non-Cubans).  He was a psychopath with a sadistic lust for killing. He killed for pleasure.

So you wouldn't think any corporate CEO would even consider launching, say, a new car by using Guevara as a marketing gimmick.

Think again:  A couple of days ago the CEO of Mercedes-Benz launched a new car model under a banner picture of Guevara.  Of course since many wealthy liberals absolutely love socialism/communism, perhaps this will turn out to be the marketing coup of the century, helping a luxury car maker sell pricey cars to wealthy buyers.

And of course after the insanity of the past 18 months, anything's possible.  But this move provides a chance to look at one of the unquestioned "heroes of the Left."

Much has been written about how Guevara executed men and boys in Cuban prisons, without the need for bourgeois niceties such as trials. This snippet from a 1966 speech by Guevara ought to have caused the CEO of Mercedes to think twice:

Hatred is the central element of our struggle!  Hatred that is intransigent...hatred so violent that it propels a human being beyond his natural limitations, making him a violent, cold- blooded killing machine.
We reject any peaceful approach. Violence is inevitable. To establish socialism, rivers of blood must flow!  The imperialist enemy must feel like a hunted animal wherever he moves. Thus we'll destroy him!
These hyenas are fit only for extermination. We must keep our hatred alive and fan it to paroxysm! The victory of socialism is well worth millions of victims!
Ah, rebellion!  Is gud, comrades!  But rebellion was only good when it allowed communism to take control.  After that, no rebellion was allowed--the regime must not be questioned.  In another speech Guevara thundered, "Youth must refrain from ungrateful questioning of governmental mandates!"

Say, that sounds familiar somehow.  "Everyone must be vaccinated, and anyone who criticizes that is 'anti-science!'"

Guevara also had interesting views on race, saying "The n****r is indolent and lazy, and spends his money on frivolities, whereas the European is forward-looking, organized and intelligent."

Totally logical for Mercedes to use Che Guevara to launch their new car, eh?

Okay, 48 hours after the launch Mercedes-Benz apologized.  But the enduring question remains as to how the CEO of a multi-billion-dollar company--and every member of his staff!--could be so ignorant of history that he'd personally appear before cameras to embrace a psychopathic communist who killed for fun.

A spokesman said, "It was absolutely stupid that *somebody* did it."

Ah.  "Somebody," eh?
