A European legislature says public schools shouldn't be allowed to force kids to watch pro-tranny propaganda. EU screams!
I have a hard time deciding whether to post events in other nations, because dumb Democrats here simply don't believe that anything bad that happens in another country can happen here, or that we can and should learn from those other nations' experiences.
If that kind of resistance to logic and reason strikes you as insane, join the club. It's abysmally dumb, but that's how they roll. So...
Hungarians are big on human rights, but they also recognize that young people are extremely easily influenced by slick video propaganda glorifying, say, gay sex, or sex-change operations. So last month the legislature of Hungary (for public-school students that's a nation in Europe) passed a law making it illegal for public schools to show children under 18--a captive audience--any material pushing homosexuality or transgenderism.
The lawmakers realize that slimy leftist school adminishits often force students--again, a captive audience--to watch or read all types of leftist propaganda, and the lawmakers wanted to put a stop to that.
And because kids often watch television, movies and advertisements, the lawmakers extended that same ban to TV and movies. It would no longer be legal to show content promoting homosexuality or transgenderism.
WELL...the gay and tranny mafias screamed bloody murder! "How dare they not allow us to push our pro-gay, pro-trans propaganda in public schools?! Children have the absolute RIGHT to watch these videos!" And they immediately demanded that their allies in the EU pressure the government of Hungary to repeal this law.
Cuz nothing says "democracy" like letting 30 socialist bureaucrats in the EU order a nation to change laws the EU bureaucrats don't like, eh?
The leaders of the EU’s 17 biggest countries immediately wrote a letter arguing the law violated “fundamental rights.” The female president of the European Commission bleated, “This law uses the protection of children as an excuse to discriminate against people because of their sexual orientation!”
Let's examine the "logic" here: According to the female running the EU commission, no member state can be allowed to protect vulnerable, easily-influenced kids from pro-tranny, pro-gay propaganda if the public schools decide to force their captive audience to watch it. Interesting.
It's obvious that a law banning the showing of pro-tranny and pro-gay propaganda on television could easily be abused, so it's understandable that the EU commission would want to reject that part of the Hungarian law. But that's not what the EU leaders did. Instead they demanded that the entire law be repealed. Why is that?
Who should get to decide what kinds of propaganda schools can force young students to watch? Who benefits from forcing children in public schools to watch pro-tranny, pro-gay propaganda?
After the EU *demanded* the law be repealed, the prime minister of Hungary said he'd hold a referendum on the law. Of course even if the referendum supports the law by a ten-to-one landslide, does anyone think the EU would accept the Hungarian law?
Of course not. There's only one answer the EU bureaucrats will accept: "We surrender."
