Why haven't more Americans pushed back--harder--against Dem pols taking away freedoms w/ "da Virus" as an excuse?
Why haven't Americans fought harder against government rules during the plandemic?
One of the dozens of founding principles of this country was that ordinary Americans had the right to tell government to f* off. In 2021 the government's response has been to send cops and National Guard troops to enforce their diktats.
Our forefathers stepped up and put their money where their mouths were. They did not merely issue 'blistering dissents', but also blistering musket fire. George Washington didn't just run his mouth, but also crossed the Potomac with guns. Because we're Americans. That's what we do.
As the America-phile Brit commentator Katie Hopkins puts it:
You have the fight within you. Americans are different from Brits because you are built differently, your Constitution is hard-wired into your soul. [You believe] that your right to life and liberty and happiness is God-given, and that no man has the power to take those rights away.
At one time that was true. Now I'm not sure most Americans believe that. Instead I think we gave them away ourselves.
When the Chinese virus hit, and the federal government issued lockdown and quarantine mandates, it was probably reasonable to comply with lockdowns and mask orders, because we didn't know what we were dealing with, or how bad it could get. Thus giving the government the benefit of the doubt was probably reasonable at the time.
But that didn't last long. Within a couple of months it became obvious that the so-called "experts" (Fauci et al) were lying: the pandemic was being used by Democrats at every level as a political weapon. Governments at every level were using the plandemic as an excuse to grab power, criminalize dissent and harass their political opponents.
One of the clearest examples of this was John Lewis' funeral. Remember that one? Democrat pols and
RINOs were packed like sardines at the memorial service. All of the social-distance bullshit was simply ignored for "virtue-signalling" Dems.
When conservatives pointed out the total, utter hypocrisy, the leftist Mainstream Media quoted pols claiming that ignoring the rules they'd imposed on others--enforced by huge fines--was justified because "racism is a public health issue."
And it got worse: In June of last year 1,200 so-called “health experts” signed a letter approving maskless BLM protests because, the letter read, “white supremacy is a lethal public health issue.”
But the letter immediately added, “This should not be confused with a permissive stance on…protests against stay-home orders.”
Once again, a total, utter double-standard that penalized one group while praising a favored group for doing exactly the same thing.
Yep, Dem pols and their Mainstream Media supporters told us some protests were public health hazards while others were just fine. The difference was determined purely by politics. That's when it became clear that all the lockdowns and quarantine rules had nothing to do with science or health, but had become just another politicized weapon used to benefit groups favored by the ruling classes at the xpense of others.
If you want to raise your blood pressure, read that open letter. It's an infuriating abuse of logic so shameless that it would make a Jesuit blush.
Trump's failure to fire the lying homunculus Anthony Fauci didn't help, and might even have cost him the election. Instead Trump did nothing as Democrats rewrote the election laws in six crucial battleground states.
Republican state lawmakers could have stopped that, but didn't. At the time no one imagined the Democrats were deliberately changing election rules (all-mail-in voting, accepting mail-in ballots with late postmarks, or even no postmark, accepting mail-in ballots with no matching signatures or a fake address, etc.) to steal the election.
As more and more small businesses closed because of the lockdowns, never to reopen, why were there not huge protests? Why did more small business owners not band together and defy the government's lockdown edicts? Where was the outrage? Where was the defiance?
Answer was that the Media and Fauci et al had succeeded in scaring Americans into accepting virtually any loss of freedom as the price we had to pay to keep the death rate tolerably low.
After watching the response of Americans over the last 16 months I'm convinced that if this were the 1930s half of Americans would be helping load the other half into the trains headed for the camps.
