UK government spending millions on "knife surrender bins," pushing citizens to turn in knives

The socialist elites running the UK banned private citizens from owning guns long ago.  Faced with harsh penalties for being found with a gun, UK thugs continued business as usual but this time with knives.  

The murder rate stayed exactly the same.  Only the weapon changed.

But if you think the socialist elites would ever admit they'd been wrong--that the problem was NOT guns but thugs determined to steal and kill--you don't know socialist elites.  Instead they doubled down, urging citizens to turn in *knives.*

They've now spent $100 MILLION taxpayer dollars (okay, pounds, but you get the idea) buying and installing thousands of "knife surrender bins."  No, I'm not kidding.  See pic below.

 

Next on the "elites" list:  Households will be limited to owning just one knife, which must be engraved with a serial number.  Police will make random inspections of homes, and if a home is missing its knife the owner will be fined 1,000 pounds.
