HEY, didja hear HarrisBiden* re-joined the "Paris climate accords"? Ain't that GREAT? Wait...what does that mean?

If you're a stalwart Democrat, or a young American trying to decide which political party is serious and which constantly lies and constantly sells America out to foreigners, consider this:  The Biden/Harris regime has re-joined the "Paris climate accords."

Of course as a well-informed voter you know what the Paris climate accords are and what they're alleged to do, right?

Actually unless you're an activist the only thing you've heard is that the "accords" are a very good thing, because Obama and John Kerry and CNN and ABCNBCCBS said so, endlessly  Even more likely is that you heard--from these same sources--that the "accords" were absolutely critical if we were to stop the planet from burning up.  And that da eeeebil Orange Man withdrew the U.S. from those accords.

Any of this ring a bell?

So if you're like most Americans, when the Media gush and fawn over how totally faaaabulous! BidenHarris were to rejoin the thing, you went along.  But let's see what the accords really do, and why the Harris regime rejoining Paris actually shows that they're screwing you to enable themselves to preen about their virtue.

The stated purpose of the accords is to reduce CO2 emissions.  The reason they want to do this is that liberals, communists, socialists and cunning operatives have convinced politicians--most of whom know zero about science--that the Earth is a) warming, b) dangerously, c) due to CO2 emissions.  See, as every 6th-grader now knows, CO2 is a "greenhouse gas," so the theory is that if we reduce CO2 we reduce global warming.

The real purpose is to get the "leaders" and "elites" of advanced western nations to voluntarily kill their economies.

Of course you don't believe that.  It sounds absurd.  No western "leader" could be so dumb as to volunteer to kill his own nation's economy.

That's because the watermelons--friendly-green environmentalists on the outside, communist red on the inside--have convinced political leaders that their nations can do fine without burning carbon fuels.  This, of course, is a totally fact-free assertion.  Clean gas, oil and yes, coal, produce nearly two-thirds of the electricity in the U..S.  Virtually all transportation uses either gasoline, oil or electricity made from them.  Kill carbon fuels and the economy would collapse to about 1/4th of its current output.

Of course the elites and pols don't believe it, but even if they did, they wouldn't care, because they can always find ways to grab whatever they want, while you freeze at home in the dark.  Like hundreds of thousands of Texans during that coldest-in history cold snap earlier this month.

But the biggest proof that cutting CO2 won't help is that the biggest carbon-burning nation--China--didn't join.  Neither did Russia or the nation with the second largest population in the world.

Moreover, the president of China knows that energy is the key to a strong economy, so while western leaders were preening about their great virtue for promising to cut carbon emissions, the Chinese were busy building coal-fired powerplants.  So the net is, more CO2, stronger China, weakened western nations.  

SUCH A DEAL, EH?

Of course you don't believe it, cuz you can't imagine western pols would be that dumb.  But sure enough, last year as the rest of the world made cuts of 17.2 gigawatts (GW), China built 38.4 GW of new coal-fired generating capacity, according to new international research.

That's more than three times the amount built elsewhere around the world.

Including decommissions, China’s coal-fired fleet capacity rose by a net 29.8 GW in 2020, according to research released on Wednesday by Global Energy Monitor (GEM), a US think tank, and the Helsinki-based Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA).

You'd think economists would be frantically warning western "leaders" that they were simply promising to kill their own economies, but for some reason [!] none of the academics or talking media heads are complaining.  Reuters.

Point of this exercise is, Biden and Harris and Schumer and Pelosi either don't have enough brain cells among the four of 'em to understand what they're really doing, OR...they understand exactly what they're doing.
