Colorado DMV employees who cooperated with ICE have been "retrained." Open-borders pushers win again.

Colorado is one of 16 states that gives drivers' licenses to illegal aliens.  The argument for doing that--made by Democrats and their open-borders allies, of course--was that giving licenses would "make the roads safer."

No one ever explained HOW giving illegals drivers' licenses was supposed to  make our highways safer, because no one was ever pressed to explain that.  The few times a state lawmaker or DMV spokeswhore tried to do that, it was obvious that the claim was horse shit.  For example, Dem open-borders pushers tried claiming it would force illegals to get insurance.  Really?  How?

Anyway, a year or so ago employees in the fraud investigation division of Colorado's DMV reportedly began sharing their files with federal immigration officials, to help those officials locate illegals who were using a stolen identity or had been charged with a crime other than illegally entering the U.S.

This outraged open-borders Democrats, and a group called the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition that the DMV was "proactively helping ICE identify, surveil and detain individuals.”

The group claimed it was horrible for the state to "share sensitive information" that the illegals had to provide if they wanted to access services, like a driver’s license.  This, claimed the anti-American group, was "a violation of trust."

Ohhhh, yes yes yes, comrade!  See, da gruberment can use data in every state database, and from every credit-reporting company, to find you or any other American citizen.  Perfectly legal.  But it's just TOTALLY unfair for gruberment to use the same tools to locate an illegal charged with, say, rape or robbery.  Cuz...reasons.

So as you already guessed, DMV officials have caved, promisig they won't share data anymore.  Staffers who cooperated with ICE have been “retrained on the appropriate uses of data sharing.”

In case any DMV employee didn't get the message, the DMV spokeswhore added “Any request solely for the purpose of civil immigration enforcement is immediately denied.”

Now two Democrat state legislators say they're introducing a law to prevent the personal information of its residents from being shared with federal immigration authorities.

Wait, that isn't quite what the proposed law says.  What it says is that the state can still share YOUR info with the feds, but not info on illegalse.

The two Democrats pushing the new law are state Senator Julie Gonzales and Representative Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez..

Two sets of laws, citizen.  Perfectly reasonable.  You can't possibly complain about it.

Well, you can complain, but it won't do any good.
