Biden* (NMP) says "No one should go to jail for using an illegal drug"
Y'know, laws infringe on the right of people to do whatever they want, eh? So since Democrats support the right of anyone to do anything they like, why bother enforcing laws against, say, illegal drug use?
When you put it that way, it does sound persuasive, eh?
Wait, it sounds like a recipe for chaos. It's crazy. But only to sane, hard-working people, which excludes a huge number of Democrat voters. But during a staged "town hall" two days ago, Slow Joe (NMP) said he doesn't think anyone should be imprisoned for using an illegal drug.
You may think that's too ridiculous to believe. I understand. But the source is CNN, which is totally Dem-loving, Dem-supporting. So it's hard to claim he didn't say it.
Let's try a bit of something called "reasoning" here: 1) It costs money to buy drugs, whether legal or not. 2) When junkies run out of cash, obviously their demand for drugs doesn't magically vanish; 3) To get money to buy the drugs they demand, junkies resort to either theft or robbery. 4) Honest, hard-working citizens are victims of these acts.
Now one can certainly make the case (which Democrats have been making for decades) that putting people in jail for illegal drug use costs more than the value of goods they would be stealing if they weren't in prison. But if Joe's idea a good one, then since the Dems control every part of the gruberment now, why not have Nancy or Chuckie introduce a bill to ban states from sentencing junkies to jail ? Because Dems control both chambers of congress, such a bill would pass immediately, and Slow Joe could quickly sign it into law.
Why don't the Dems do that, eh? Could it be because it would anger more voters than the number of drug users who would be ecstatic about such a bill?
Hmmm...it's a mystery, eh?
