Fed judge orders Dakota pipeline shut down!

Something happened Monday, and unless you're in the oil business it almost certainly didn't make any impression on you:

A federal judge ordered the "Dakota Access Pipeline" shut down.

Most Americans would skip right over that, cuz...no big deal, right?

Uh...sure.  This pipeline moved about 600,000 barrels of oil every DAY from well to markets.  The direct revenue to North Dakota alone was around $3 BILLION per year.

The pipeline was completed just 3 years ago, had been working flawlessly.  Now those 600,000 barrels every DAY will have to be moved by rail--a far more dangerous and costly method.

The judge's ruling favored Sioux tribes that claimed da pipeline was reeeeally dangerous cuz it might have spilled oil into surface water.  Of course.  That happens almost every month, right?  The media puts those stories right at the top every time.

Wait, I can't remember the last time a "big" pipeline leaked into surface waters.  But hey, experts tell us asteroids are gonna wipe out life on earth any day now, so....
