Anti-Trump, anti-American Reuters claims--unsourced--U.S. trying to "lure" German vax maker; leftists predictably scream

Politicians and operatives who want to destroy the U.S. must be laughing themselves silly over how easy it is to plant a news story portraying the Trump administration as eeeevil, then watch as American leftists jump on the fake story as if true, and then flood Twatter with comments about how AWFUL da eeeebil Trumkin is to have (allegedly) done whatever the fake story said.

In the latest case the reliably pro-communist "news" "service" Reuters (I defy anyone to publish a quote from Reuters criticizing communism or the Left; never happens) ran an item--supposedly tipped to them from anonymous sources--that "the U.S. government" (presumably acting on the orders of Trump) had offered "large sums" to a German firm that was working on a vaccine against corona to get them to move to the U.S.  

The sources were never named, and the story was immediately debunked by officials, but to no avail, as the fake story confirmed what Trump-haters totally knew just had to be true: that Trump was trying to grab companies working on a vaccine so he could personally profit from it.

Yup yup yup.  Makes perfect sense to American Leftists and the mainstream media.

Of course you almost certainly didn't bother to click on the link above.  That's fine, but because I suspect the article will vanish, here's the main point of the Reuters fake-news piece:

Germany tries to halt U.S. interest in firm working on coronavirus vaccine

BERLIN (Reuters) - Berlin is trying to stop Washington from persuading a German company seeking a coronavirus vaccine to move its research to the United States, prompting German politicians to insist no country should have a monopoly on any future vaccine. 

German government sources told Reuters on Sunday that the U.S. administration was looking into how it could gain access to a potential vaccine being developed by a German firm, CureVac.

Earlier, the Welt am Sonntag German newspaper reported that U.S. president Donald Trump had offered funds to lure CureVac to the United States.

Responding to the report, the U.S. ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, wrote on Twitter: “The Welt story is wrong.”

A German Health Ministry spokeswoman, confirming a quote in the newspaper, said: “The German government is very interested in ensuring that vaccines and active substances against the new coronavirus are also developed in Germany and Europe.”
“In this regard, the government is in intensive exchange with the company CureVac.”

Welt am Sonntag quoted an unidentified German government source as saying Trump was trying to secure the scientists’ work exclusively, and would do anything to get a vaccine for the United States, “but only for the United States.”

And as expected, Leftist twatter-users took it from there:

Wow. Does your president do anything that isn’t out of desperation? We are all concerned about covid-19, but I’m especially worried for the US. This profound lack of leadership will be disastrous.

This is depraved. The German government confirms that Trump apparently tried to bribe German scientists into giving him exclusive rights to the Covid-19 vaccine they were working on developing. He wanted it “for the US only.” How many new lows will he set for the United States?

I seriously can't stop thinking about this: How sick, selfish, and utterly morally corrupt do you have to be to want to monopolize a vaccine for a global pandemic for only your own country -- I can't believe this man is in charge of he U.S.

Adam Schiff chimed in ("never let a good crisis go to waste," eh?):

Mr. President, keep your focus on the current crisis. The delay in testing and your failure to lead are already costing us dearly. Your attacks on the independence of the justice system and rewarding of cronies who lied for you can wait. Incompetence kills.

Wait, is that the same Adam Schiff whose senate comrade attacked the Supreme Court for its recent decisions?  Why yes, yes it is.

 

I think it's telling that the same party that nominated Hilliary as their 2016 candidate--the same Hilliary who amassed $150+ million in foreign donations to her fake-charitable foundation--is so fixated on seeing graft and corruption in a president who's donated his entire salary to charitable causes for his entire presidency, whereas Bill and Hilly took tax deductions for donating Bill's used underwear.  Seriously.
