Back in 1994 Califonia voters passed a ballot initiative barring most benefits to illegals 60-40. What happened next...

Every time the president has tried to do anything to reduce the number of illegal aliens pouring into the U.S, the effort has been blocked a liberal federal judge.  What you may not know is that Democrats, socialists and communists--who have cunningly re-named themselves as "progressives"-- have been doing this since at least 1994 (and almost certainly far earlier than that).  Example:

Way back in the 1990s Californians were grappling with the avalanche of illegal aliens.  In response, in 1994 they got enough signatures on a petition to put a "proposition" to a vote.  Proposition 187 (also known as the Save Our State (SOS) initiative) proposed to prohibit illegal aliens from getting taxpayer-funded non-emergency health care, public education, and other services.

Polls showed the proposition was hugely popular, and on November 8, 1994, state voters approved the proposition by nearly 60-40.  That's a huge margin.

Opponents of the proposition knew 187 was likely to pass, so they had a legal challenge complete and ready to file--which they did the day after it passed.  (And again, by a 60-40 vote.)

Three days after the vote, a federal judge W. Matthew Byrne issued a temporary restraining order barring all implementation of the measure.

Three weeks later federal judge Mariana Pfaelzer (appointed by Democrat Jimmy Carter) issued a permanent injunction against 187.

Pfaelzer's written opinion clearly shows how liberal judges use absurd reasoning to achieve whatever end their favored groups want: She ruled that the bill was simply a "legislative scheme to regulate immigration," which she claimed made 187 unconstitutional because it infringed on the federal government's exclusive jurisdiction over matters relating to immigration.[28]
"California is powerless to enact its own legislative scheme to regulate immigration. It is likewise powerless to enact its own legislative scheme to regulate alien access to public benefits."[29]
Notice the glaringly obvious non-sequitur in the quote from Pfaelzer above:  While it may be argued that the "regulation of immigration" is solely a federal role, it is a HUGE and unsupported leap to claim--in the very next sentence, without citing any legal basis, that the state is "likewise powerless to...regulate alien access to public benefits."

[Also note that after Trump was elected, Democrat-appointed federal judges have reversed this reasoning, ruling that "sanctuary states" are legally entitled to override federal immigration policies, giving illegal immigrants the right to remain in the U.S. in violation of federal law.  There's been no relevant change in federal law between Pfaelzer's ruling and today, but liberal judges have used the same laws to produce diametrically opposite rules.  Outrageous, but now far too common.]

After Pfaelzer gave Democrat governor Gray Davis the ruling he wanted, Davis ordered the state not to appeal that ruling, and 187 vanished.

Amusingly--and without recognizing the irony--the communists who run Wiki then summarize the effect of 187 as: "Republicans' embrace of Proposition 187 has been cited as a key factor for the decline of the Republican Party in California, particularly as the demographics have changed to include more immigrants.[6]"

Of course the real reason California has been ruled by Democrats for decades is the tidal wave of illegals who entered back in the 1980s.  Thanks to the 14th Amendment their U.S.-born kids automatically got American citizenship, and in 18 years (or less) they started having kids of their own--who now have had another generation of kids--all American citizens, 95% of whom vote Democrat.

The same thing is happening all over the country.  Because it helps Democrats win elections, they love it.

Vote Democrat.  Cuz illegal aliens are good for the U.S.  Really.
