On Dems and vote fraud

As the dustup over Florida's efforts to remove illegals and deceased persons from its voting rolls continues, I'm noticing a large number of comments on conservative blogs along the lines of "Hey, you stupid Rethuglicans are whining about vote fraud, but you can't *prove* that there's ever been any vote fraud. So how can you support Florida's program, which of course is intended to disenfranchise minorities?"

This got me thinking: Is there ANY level of proof of vote fraud that would be good enough to convince diehard Dems? After all, it's highly unlikely that anyone who voted twice (or more) would self-identify, eh? And of course ballots are anonymous and secret, so once they're cast, it's impossible to tell the valid ones from the fraudulent.

Of course if someone claiming to be Joe Smith votes today, and it's later found that Smith died a year ago, that's pretty powerful evidence. But if only a few such incidents are found, Dems will claim it's just random mistakes and not evidence of deliberate fraud.

So finally it occurs to me: They honestly have no qualms about raping the voting laws, as long as their candidate wins. Ends justifying means.

Besides, they believe their intentions are good. And for a progressive, that's all that matters.
