You trust the political class...why?
Comment on an editorial in the WSJ:
They don't seem very bright, and most of 'em seem to have done little outside of holding public office. As a result, they don't seem to have a good handle on what it takes to earn a living, other than being on the public payroll.
And judging by their votes, they certainly don't understand economics.
Compounding all the fundamental problems with our economy is the fact that we all instinctively default to wishing, hoping or expecting solutions from our political class.Guy makes a good point, I think. A few politicians seem to be genuinely good and honest, but there also seems to be a class of "professional pols." They're amazingly good at glad-handing and raising money for campaigns, but little else.
What lunacy. How in the world are these people--most of whom are the worst of our society in terms of competence and understanding of actual causes--going to solve such an enormous mess as we're facing now?
What makes any intelligent, rational person believe the members of our political class could do anything other than completely wreck the place?
