"Crime by illegal immigrants greatly exaggerated," say liberal Democrats

A 14-year-old Houston girl was shot in the back by a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador. She's dead.

Melvin Alvarado shot her--in the back--in the course of a robbery. Perhaps he was intimidated by her greater strength.

Just to round out the story, the illegal had been convicted on TWO drunk-driving charges in the same county in Houston. After his second conviction in November 2007, he was sentenced to 60 days in jail. When he got out he was deported, in April 2008.

But life is sooo good here,* so he came back. Again illegally. And was deported a second time in May 2009.

The typical liberal-Democrat response would probably be something like this:
How DARE you accuse liberal policies of having any role in this poor girl's death!

Yes, we liberal Democrats did vote to make Houston a Sanctuary City, but that had nothing to do with this poor girl's death. I mean, who could possibly have predicted that announcing to "undocumented visitors" (we don't use the term "illegal immigrants") that we wouldn't deport 'em or arrest 'em would attract criminal immigrants to our fair city?

And who could possibly have predicted that these undocumented visitors would go on to commit...actual, um...crimes?? (See, us liberal Democrats don't consider it a crime when immigrants enter this country without documents. That's just a raaacist stereotype created by those dumb, Bible-thumpin', cousin-marryin' conservatives.) So we never imagined one of our poor, oppressed guests might do something... y'know, really criminal.

See, in our world there is no such thing as "cause-and-effect."

Besides, the victim reportedly had jewelry and a cell phone, so the poor immigrant was just redistributing the wealth. And us liberal-Democrats consider that a very important goal. In fact our president is in favor of "spreading the wealth."

*Liberal-Democrat-"progressive"-socialists are always running off at the mouth about how bad life in the U.S. is: it's unjust, unfair, oppressive, raaacist--an endless litany of awfulness. So how can one reconcile these claims with the fact that so many millions of people keep streaming across our southern border every year?

Apparently the illegals must think life is pretty damn good here.

Maybe we could reduce illegal immigration by sending liberals to Mexico and Central America and have them tell the locals what they keep telling us--how awful life is in the U.S.
