It's on in Iran

WELL it's on in Iran, eh?  Hopefully Trump has better sense than Bush so will refuse to put American troops on the ground, which is stupid.  Take out the regime's weapons, navy, palaces and barracks, and let the Iranian people take it from there.  It's what we should have done in Iraq, but the Chief of Staff of the Army pushed the notion that we needed troops on the ground, and Bush didn't know enough to say No.

Now the hoot: Barky Obozo fucked the U.S. more than any other president, by talking big and then doing nothing when adversaries called his bluff.  If you think I'm exaggerating, google "Red line in Syria."

Barky was always a chickenshit.  Look at how he rose to power from his leftist base in Chitcongo.  The Democrats saw a chance to win big, and they did.  The U.S. lost all credibility in the world, ending up with Barky giving the Iranian regime $100 BILLION, of which a cool BILLION was in cash, subserviently flown into Tehran in a polyethylene-wrapped pallet in an unmarked CIA C-130.  It was a sweet bribe on top of the other $100 billion barky gave 'em--enough to finance all their terrorist proxies for 30 years.

Of course Democrats don't believe it, and don't care.  The $100 billion gift is a matter of public record.  The billion in cash--a mix of $100 bills and Euro banknotes--hasn't been admitted, but the flight crew leaked it.  They knew.

SO...my predictions: With U.S. missiles decimating the IRGC (the muscle protecting the mullahs), the mullahs who aren't able to flee will be ripped limb from limb by angry Iranian citizens who watched their friends slaughtered by the IRGC and the basij (the thuggish civilian volunteer enforcers for the regime, like Hitlers brownshirts).  If you doubt that, you don't know history: After the Nazis were defeated, German civilians turned on the regime's thugs and killed 'em in droves.  Same in France after the Nazis retreated.

Oppressed people tend to retaliate against their oppressors, eh?  So we'll see.

Unfortunately, Trump's ordering the strikes on Iran has ensured that the Democrats will win control of at least the House in November, and likely the presidency in 2028.  The big question is, will history show that trade-off (losing the U.S. govt to eliminate the tyrannical Islamic regime) was a worthwhile trade?  

It'll be a decade or so before we know.  

As always, the problem is that our enemies can either do nothing, or can try to exploit the chaos to their advantage.  Which choice to ya think they'll make, eh?

Of course: they'll almost certainly make the second choice.  It's the natural choice of tyrants.

Democrats first:  they'll accuse Trump of "wanting to rule Iran," or claim he wants to "steal their oil," or that he attacked to "give more money to defense contractors."

If you were over 25 in 2003 those bleats should sound familiar: the Dems used all of 'em to attack G.W. Bush for sending U.S. troops to both Iraq and Afghanistan.   And sure enough, not two hours after Trump's 3a.m. speech, the Dems were already using these attack points on the president's X account.

Of course history shows we didn't rule Iraq, and didn't steal a single barrel of their oil.  But since the Lying Mainstream Media never fact-checks Democrat bullshit, U.S. citizens (voters) never learn that all the Dem talking points were bullshit.

We should never have put boots on the ground in either Iraq or Afghanistan.  We put troops in because the 4-star Army chief of staff didn't want his service to lose appropriations, so insisted to Bush that we HAD to have troops on the ground to win.  Bush wasn't a student of military history, so he didn't know enough to buck the general.  And none of the other service chiefs were willing to contradict the guy.  That decision cost the lives of about 4,500 U.S. soldiers in Iraq and 2,500 in Afghanistan (along with about 3,000 "contract personnel."

So I predict we won't see U.S. boots on the ground in Iran during hostilities.  Problem is that after the mullahs are out, U.S. Democrats will insist that the U.S. do years of "nation-building" or reparations for the damage.  

This would be a complete disaster, and is NOT needed.  Just end the sanctions, allowing Iran to sell oil at world market prices.  Let Iranians engage in free trade.  Their economy will boom.  Maybe send 'em planeloads of medical supplies while their economy gets back up to speed.

 

One thing we can count on: Democrats and their allies in the Lying Mainstream Media will be screaming bloody murder for two years about this.
