In May NOAA warned of worse-than-normal hurricane season. How'd that pan out?
Back in May of this year the experts at NOAA issued this warning to Americans:
NOAA predicts above-normal 2025 Atlantic hurricane season; Above-average Atlantic Ocean temperatures set the stage
NOAA’s outlook for the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, which goes from June 1 to November 30, predicts a 60% chance of an above-normal season, and a 10% chance of a below-normal season.
The agency is forecasting 6 to 10 hurricanes, including 3-5 major hurricanes (category 3 or stronger) with winds over 110 mph. NOAA has a 70% confidence in these ranges."
Ahh, "strong confidence" that we'd see 6 to 10 hurricanes, including 3 to 5 "major" ones. So how'd that breathless prediction pan out, eh?
While hurricane season still has seven weeks to go, so far the number of hurricanes to hit the U.S. year has been...wait for it...zero.
In fact just one "tropical storm" has made landfall in the U.S. so far this year. It had winds over 39 mph for less than 24 hours before drifting ashore in South Carolina.
Just one other "tropical storm" hit the mainland--in Mexico--with max winds of just 40 mph. It was a named storm for only a few hours as it drifted ashore in Mexico before fizzling.
So why didn't NOAA's prediction pan out? After all, if you go back to the press release from May you see that "Above-normal temps for the Atlantic ocean set the stage." What could have happened to make things so quiet this year, eh?
It's a mystery. After all, CO2 has continued to increase, and since the religion of Global Wormies sez CO2 causes Globull Worming, which causes more and stronger hurricanes, so..."We don't understand why reality didn't do as we predicted!"
I'm really not making fun of the warmies at NOAA: their theories and models say higher ocean temps should generate not only MORE hurricanes, but stronger ones. I suspect at least a couple of the NOAA experts are truly puzzled.
But most aren't. "Yew stupid deplorables just got lucky! Ouah forecasts were right, but just by luck yew dodged the bullet!"
Because the entire "Globull Worming" con is based on increasing CO2 level in the atmosphere, and CO2 has increased, predicting a worse hurricane season is the only forecast they're allowed to make. The "religion" of Climate Change requires that all forecasts always be “worse than average”--cuz of global warming, due to CO2 emissions--always blamed on Americans.
But not only did no hurricanes make landfall during the peak of hurricane season, there was an unprecedented period of zero tropical activity at all, not even a tropical "depression" (a storm with winds below 39 mph that has some level of circulation.)
One of the hurricanes that fizzled out far offshore at one point had maximum winds of 140 mph, making it a category 4 storm--which was enough for the media to fire up the climate hysteria and imply thatl it was one of the worst hurricanes in history:
“Hurricane Erin is one of the fastest rapidly intensifying storms in Atlantic history” [CNN – 8/17/2025]
“‘Near historical’ Hurricane Erin among largest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic at over 500 miles wide” [NY Post – 8/21/2025]
Now, almost everyone reading this will shrug: "Tempest in a teapot! Who cares?" I get it. Problem is, when the Democrats regain power they'll double down on outlawing gas-powered and diesel-powered vehicles, and gas stoves, and gas home heating (by far cheaper than other means in all but a handful of mild climate zones). They'll force you to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on useless shit that they demand--to no effect at all.
The fact that our national weather agency is infested with political propagandists pushing climate hysteria will be used by the Democrats to further punish Americans. Count on it.
