Media: "Higher prices are a sign of a booming economy!"

Just like "more expensive everything."  See, dat mean ev'ryt'ing iz totally BOOMING, citizens!  When things cost more, dat GUUUD!  You obviously unnerstan' dat, right?  See, higher prices for the same amount of stuff raises GDP, which lets obedient regime economists claim GDP is booming!  Up by...what did they say?  Oh yeah: over FIVE PERCENT in Q3!

That is SO fabulous, eh?  A total tribute to the brilliance of Porridgebrain's lackeys, right?

See, you don't mind paying more for stuff, right?  So what if hamburger was three bucks a pound when Trump was prez, and now it's twice that, eh?  Duh Dems and their allies in the Mainstream Media tell you dat don' mean nuffin'!  An' you believe dat, cuz duh Mainstream Media an' duh gummint keep tellin you dat ev'ry day!  Mus' be true, right?  Cuz if it was bullshit, the Media would call 'em out on that, eh?  

The con is SO seamless!  Regime bleats it, Mainstream Media repeats it, stupid people believe it.  Cuz why would they lie, eh?  No one bothers to do any research.  "Too much trouble, takes too long," right?

In times of peace, with no "stressors" or threats, stupid people don't hurt society very much.  But when stupid people can vote, and simply, blindly believe anything the regime tells 'em, what do you think the result is?

I know what my Democrat friends will say: "Peace.  Prosperity!  Equity!" 

Orwell knew communism (call it totalitarianism if it makes you feel better).  He coined three classic government decrees:  "War is peace.  Freedom is slavery.  Ignorance is strength."  And while they seem outrageously absurd, he explains how the regime got everyone to believe those things.

Of course "1984" was obviously fiction.  You can't believe any American would believe these things, right?
