Washington Post claims it's okay to break a law if you don't like it
Hey citizen, got a daughter? Love her? Does she play sports? Would you like to see her play, say, field hockey against a 180-pound man pretending to be a girl?
If you're a sane parent, the answer is obvious. But as you already guessed, the communist rat-bastards who run the Washington Post aren't sane. Instead they demand that men be allowed to compete against girls in sports. The entire rationale is based on the claim that the men are "real" women. Seriously.
But that's old. The new twist is that the Post is now claiming trannies can ignore state law because they don't like it. See, you can't ignore laws, but they can...because in the Post's world everything must defer to the tranny mafia. The Post propagandist also coyly claims that because only two percent of students are trans, letting boys compete against girls is okay because it won't happen too often.
Actually I kinda like this new liberal policy, in which everyone is entitled to choose which laws to obey; and unfair things are really okay if they don't happen more than a small percent of the time.
Story: After the end of volleyball season, the coach at Monarch High School got a call from the school district saying his team was under investigation, and until that investigation was complete he wouldn't be allowed on school grounds.
The coach didn't know why the school district would be investigating his team. He says he had no idea that one of his players was really a boy. And to add to his claims of ignorance, he says he had no idea that the state had passed a law barring boys from competing on girls' teams.
He claims he only learned this week--from news reports--about the state law passed two years ago—barring boys claiming to be girls from being on girls’ school sports teams.
The Post carefully notes that the law was championed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and implemented by the Republican-controlled state legislature.
The Post also notes that
The investigation has put educators at risk of disciplinary consequences, disrupted the high school just before midterms and prompted hundreds of its students to walk out this week in protest. It has also forced a minor into the public eye.
Wait...someone forced those po' students to walk out of class? And just before midterms? SO dramatic, eh? SO perfect. A real tear-jerker. I'm waiting for the Post to wail that the new law is destroying education by forcing students to boycott class!
Now here's where it gets even harder to believe: Two years earlier the student’s parents had sued the state over the law that said boys had to compete against boys, not girls (which the Post cunningly calls "a trans athlete ban"). In November (apparently of this year?) a federal judge dismissed that lawsuit, ruling that the law didn’t violate any rights under the Constitution or Title IX.
Did no administrator at the school district know that one of their students was the plaintiff in a lawsuit challenging the allegedly tyrannical new law, and claiming males had the absolute right to compete against girls? You seriously expect readers to believe no one told the school principal or the coach?
The Post now pours on the tears, interviewing an LGBTQ activist who sobs that the student--"who was happy and thriving"--now doesn’t want to return to school. Hmmm... But if the boy pretending to be a girl was so totally convincing, how do the other students know who he is, eh? Think maybe everyone at the school actually already knew? But the Post still amusingly goes with the farce that the coach had no idea.
The activist wails “This child’s life has been turned upside down. And she didn’t hurt or harm anyone.” Note the Post's deliberate use of the wrong language, because that leads people to believe what's false is true.
Certainly the boy didn't hurt anyone. It's called a "victimless crime," and there are dozens of examples, all perfectly legal. And unlike, say, field hockey, certainly small boys playing low-contact sports aren't likely to injure female opponents. So perhaps the tranny mafia could get the law amended to allow boys to compete against girls in volleyball.
Sure. That will satisfy 'em.
Hahahahaha! Just kidding.
The DeSantis administration’s push for the investigation, and misgendering of the student in a statement, drew criticism. The editorial board of the Miami Herald said the governor “clearly doesn’t deem all children worthy of protection from harm."
Which is hugely ironic since the whole point of the law was to prevent
110-pound girls from being knocked out by 170-pound boys in field hockey
or basketball. Clearly the Miami Herald doesn't deem all children worthy of protection from serious harm, eh? But that liberals just don't understand hypocrisy.
But even in non-contact sports there's an issue of fairness. Think about William "call me Lia" Thomas winning all records in swimming after joining the girls' team. It's clearly unfair for males to compete against females in athletics. The law, which legislators named the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, was passed to “preserve fair opportunities for female athletes.”
But no matter: The wokiez demand that all rational principles be waived for the tranny mafia.
Now the Post pours on even more tears:
The teenager loves sports and has played on girls’ teams since she was seven. She started taking testosterone blockers at 11, then estrogen at 13. It is not an option for her to be on the boys’ team,” her parents' attorneys wrote in the lawsuit, “because she is not a boy.”
Wonder if the judge was impressed by that liberal logic? If you believe that last phrase you'll believe literally anything.
The issue has become politicized...
By whom?
...despite transgender youth being a very small minority of the U.S. population — less than 2 percent of high school students, according to a 2019 CDC report.
Well in that case, nevermind! If only a tiny percentage of people break a law, why bother enforcing it, eh? Love that logic.
While the DeSantis administration argued that Monarch High had likely broken the law, critics said the issue was the law itself, which LGBTQ advocates view as unconstitutional.
Judge disagreed, but hey...all questions of constitutionality must defer to the tranny mafia, eh?
“Just because a law is enacted doesn’t make it right or fair,” said a policy director for Equality Florida. Certainly that's right. But then lots of citizens thought it was unfair that girls had to compete against males before the law was passed. So whose claim of "unfairness" shall prevail, eh?
Oh, dat right: We're all expected to defer to duh tranny mafia. Except a strong majority in Florida have said "that's enough."
The head of the teacher's union wailed about the incident causing "national attention.” Yeah, well...all could have been prevented if the school had followed the law. But that was too much to ask, eh?
The principals' association has already concluded that none of its members broke the law. Wait...how could that be? Oh, because non one of us had any idea that the seeming "girl" was really a boy! Oh, sure. Duh skool had no records at all.
The faculty sponsor of the "Gay-Straight Alliance" said that the law "ostensibly seeks to discriminate against and ostracize trans people.” Yeah, no. Trannies can play sports just like anyone else--on the team of their biological sex. Simple.
LGBTQ advocates already thought Florida’s law had prevented other trans kids from playing sports at school, largely by discouraging them from signing up.
No they didn't. This is a brazen lie. The law wasn't "discouraging them from signing up." This is the kind of logic you get from the utterly f'd-up liberals running the Post. "Largely be discouraging them from signing up" is NOT how a "law" works. Of course the Post propagandist knows that, but by lying about it you can make people believe you.
In their 2021 lawsuit against the state, the student’s family laid out what they feared would happen if the state law were enforced at their child's school. Losing sports, they said, would “create a sense of shame and diminish her positive sense of self,” have a possible long-term effect on her future and take away a source of pride, belonging and social connection. This unintentionally captures the problem: Wokie kid: "I want [____]. I can't imagine my life if I don't get what I want! Not letting me have what I want will...uh...'diminish my positive sense of self.' So you must give me what I want. It's only fair!!"
“She cannot imagine life without these experiences,” the family wrote, “and feels it would be cruel to take this opportunity away from her.”
This is a tantrum. And the students who walked out are supporting their shared tantrum, making the adults grovel and do what the kids demand. Wow, who could have predicted *that,* eh?
