Media refused to believe proof Fauci lied about funding creation of virus.

Suppose you were the highest-paid shithead in the entire federal government--paid WAY more than the president.  You'd been in power for 50 years, and for 30 of those you'd been in charge of handing out BILLIONs of dollars in grant money every year to your friends.  No matter what utter bullshit you spouted, no scientist would dare contradict you, since if you dared to do that you'd never get another dollar of grant money again.

With that background, suppose honest researchers came up with, oh, say a solid theory that covid was modified in a Chinese lab to change it from being harmless to humans to lethal.  But this super-powerful government shit-head didn't want anyone to believe that theory cuz it would have revealed that he was a corrupt killer.

Oooh, what to do, eh?  Solution!  Order researchers who were *totally dependent* on grants from the corrupt shithead to write a paper asserting that their honest theory that covid was modified in a Chinese lab was wrong.

Then suppose that in just 18 months the shithead's lies turned out to kill, oh, say six million people worldwide--and a reported one million Americans.  If you were the corrupt shithead, do ya think you might wanna hide the evidence that you supported the thing that wound up killing that many people?

In this case the corrupt egomaniac is Tony Fauci.  In sworn testimony to congress Fauci has repeatedly hotly denied that he ever approved grants to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to fund "gain-of-function research."

But way back in 2015 the chief scientist at the Wuhan Institute published a paper describing their success in inserting a single gene into a bat coronavirus.  That paper was presented at an international conference on viruses that same year.  And on the last page of that paper the authors specifically thanked the National Institute of Health for funding the research.  They even printed the NIH grant number!

I read that paper in March of 2020, just two months after the first case of corona was confirmed in the U.S.

So we have proof that as early as 2015 Fauci's NIH approved a grant of taxpayer funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, specifically to insert new genes into a harmless bat virus.  Got it?

Now, we don't have Fauci's signature on that grant award, but as you'll see below, we know he was the person who did it.
 
We know because in 2012--three years before the Wuhan Institute published paper thanking the NIH for funding--Fauci himself published a paper arguing that the benefits of "gain-of-function research"--i.e. inserting new genes into existing viruses to give them more "function" outweighed any risk of a pandemic.

So how did that theory turn out, eh?

Reporters in Australia unearthed that paper Fauci wrote (in October 2012) in which he argued in support of gain-of-function research. Such research involves making viruses more infectious and/or deadly.

Because covid first appeared in Wuhan, killing an estimated 40,000 people there, experts raised the possibility that the virus could have escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology--since virologists knew about the 2015 paper published by that team, touting their success in inserting a single harmless gene into a bat coronavirus.

Fauci was confident that no journalist would ever discover that paper, because they wouldn't know what to use for search terms.  Thus he felt confident that when he sneeringly, unequivocally DECLARED that the covid virus could not possibly have been modified in a Chinese lab, no one could call him a lying sack of shit.

Democrats will claim I'm mis-quoting Fauci's 2012 paper.  Here are his own words from that paper:

>>In an unlikely turn of events, what if that scientist becomes infected with the virus, which leads to an outbreak and ultimately triggers a pandemic?  [In that case] many ask if the initial experiments should have been performed and/or published in the first place.
    I have said that the benefits of such experiments and the resulting knowledge outweigh the risks. It is more likely that a pandemic would occur in nature, and the need to stay ahead of such a threat is a primary reason for performing an experiment that *might appear* to be risky.>>

Other scientists felt that risk was great enough that they persuaded congress to include a provision in a LAW banning the U.S. government from funding such research.  But the Australian investigation notes that Fauci nevertheless funded that research in 2017, despite the U.S. law banning it!

In 2012, when Fauci wrote his paper in support of gain-of-function research, there was a voluntary ban on such experiments, but only on the highly infectious influenza viruses.

In 2014--two years after Fauci's paper--the Obozo regime "paused" funding for gain-of-function research in 22 fields, including those involving SARS, influenza and MERS specifically due to the risk that a novel, man-modified virus could escape and kill millions.

Yet between 2014 and 2019 the "EcoHealth Alliance"--Fauci's clever "cutout" designed to shield him from any responsibility for violating the pause--forwarded $600,000 in grants received from the NIH to the Wuhan Institute, to experiment with bat coronaviruses.

The U.S. government has reportedly assessed that the WIV was conducting gain-of-function research in some form.  Jamie Metzl, an expert on gene editing for the World Health Organization, has also said that the WIV was performing gain-of-function research.  And of course we have the 2015 paper published by the Institute itself, touting their first success in splicing a single new gene into a bat coronavirus.

SO...are you starting to see that Fauci knew his paper supporting GOF research, and that his funding of such researcy at Wuhan shows how utterly wrong he was?  And for a *ruler* who's been accustomed to always being right for his entire career, he would refuse to admit his deadly error?

So when early researchers--March 20th of 2020, if I recall correctly--claimed we had absolutely solid evidence that covid was modified by humans, in Wuhan (since it appeared there first), not only did Fauci *sneer* at that conclusion, we have emails from him pressuring scientists who depended on him for future grants to change their conclusions to say that was NOT possible.

And since they depended on Fauci for their future grants, they dutifully wrote the paper he demanded they write.  And months later they received tens of millions of dollars in grants from Fauci's NIAID.  

So the threat and the bribes kept working, and kept Americans from knowing two crucial truths:  First, that the Chinese modified the harmless virus to make it kill humans.  And second, that Fauci funded that research, claiming the benefit outweighed the risk.

I suspect millions of Americans who lost parents or grandparents or spouses to covid would strongly disagree.

Now: The Mainstream Media lies as easily as you and I breathe, as long as the lie advances the Democrat agenda or protects Dems from criticism.  But even more often, when evidence appears about possible corrupt wrongdoing by allies of the Left, the Media simply refuses to investigate--which allows 'em to support the lie that the leftist is totally innocent.

They just didn't investigate, see?  Cuz they didn't want to learn the truth.

Who ran the entire federal government in May of 2021, eh?
