German study finds higher vax rates correlate with MORE excess deaths

Germany has a relatively high vax rate.  They're also known for keeping meticulous records, even when those records show things that would embarrass the Party.

And in analyzing those records, German docs noticed that the overall death rate was rising ("excess deaths").

Hmmm...must be doze awful, sciency-denying, dangerous, extremist unvaxxed folks, eh?

That would certainly be the party line here in the U.S.  Even that Nobel-prize-winner Joe bidenfail said "This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated!!!"  So it must be true.

Ah, well...one German doc used the official stats from all 16 German states, and plotted excess deaths against the percentage of vaxxed people in each, and found...the plot below:

The horizontal axis is percent of people fully vaccinated, and the vertical is excess deaths.  Each circle is a German state, with the size of the circle indicating population.

If the vax worked, we'd expect the circles to be higher on the left and slant downward as you moved to the right, showing that the greater the percentage of vaxxed, the fewer excess deaths.  That would be a "negative correlation coefficient." But as you see, the plot doesn't do that.  In fact it would appear that higher vax rates are correlated with more excess deaths.

And in fact the correlation is positive 0.31.  (A perfect correlation would be 1.0)

Now, Democrats and Karens--especially those with PhDs--will counter that there are lots of ways this plot could have been fudged.  The most obvious is that the excess deaths could have been due to covid, and all or almost all among the unvaxxed.  That's certainly possible.

But as the authors put it, with clear understatement,

This figure is worrying and needs to be explained if further policy measures are to be taken with the aim of increasing the vaccination rate.

So let's look at a second German study, this one from the Robert Koch Institute: They note that the overall vaccination rate in Germany is 70%.  So for every 1,000 new cases of covid discovered, if 70% were among fully-vaxxed people, rational adults would wonder if the vax was much of a benefit.

As it turns out, of 4,206 new cases of the Omicron variant for whom their vaccination status was known, 95.58% were fully vaccinated, and more than a quarter had had booster shots.

Now, if the vax had no effect whatsoever, we'd expect 70% of new cases to be fully-vaxxed people. What can we conclude when over 95 percent of new cases are fully vaxxed?

Karen: "The Germans must be using an inferior vaccine instead of our Pfizer or Moderna!  Yeh, dat's it!"
