City council ordered Robert E. Lee statue removed, now 6 months later says it will be melted down--by blacks

Today the Left rules every level of government. And they're taking advantage of this total control to erase every trace of historical figures they don't like.  Cuz dem li'l snowflakes are triggered by...well, everything they don't push.

In Charlottesville, VA, there was a statue of the great general Robert E. Lee.  In 1997 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. .Of course the Left sees history as a tool, and in February 2017, as part of the Left's push to remove all statues of Confederate soldiers and leaders, the city council voted 3–2 to remove it.   They also ordered that Lee Park be renamed "Emancipation Park. 

The orders generated controversy. A lawsuit was filed to stop the removal, citing a Virginia state law that prohibited the removal of historic statues and monuments.

But laws are no obstacle to determined leftists, and the courts quickly supported the council.  Although the Virginia legislature had passed a LAW banning the removal of historic statues, in April of this year the state's woke supreme court RULED  that the state law intended to ban the removal of historic statues in fact did not apply to statutes passed before the law was passed in 1997.

Since the statue had been erected in 1924, it wasn't protected.  Clever, eh?  See, laws don't mean what they clearly say when a judge doesn't LIKE what they clearly say.  And on July 10 of this year the statue was removed.  Vanished.

Interestingly, the council was cunningly silent on what they planned to DO with the historic statue. Perhaps the leftists were worried that if they announced that they planed to destroy it, it might tip already angry people into actually taking action..

So the council kept quiet as to what they planned to do with the statue while it was being removed.  But now, with the statue vanished and the controversy having ebbed, the black-run council has announced their ORDER for what is to happen to the statue:

They've ordered that it be given to the Jefferson School of African American Heritage, which says it will melt it down and use the metal to make a new "work of art" that school executive director Andrea Douglas says will “be more reflective of our entire community’s social values.”

By the “entire community” she means herself and those who are in lockstep with her ideology.  Everyone else is a racist who must be erased.

Barks Andrea, “We’re giving people the chance to engage with our own narratives and our own histories.”  They do this by erasing American history.

And the liberal establishment applauds.

Fortunately one statue in the U.S. is safe from leftist destruction:  a 16-foot-tall statue of Lenin in Seattle.  No leftist would even think about vandalizing it or demanding it be removed, cuz...reasons. 

(For young Americans who've never heard of him: Vladimir Lenin helped cement Communism in Russia.  Many lefties consider him as exalted as Karl Marx.)
