Democrats-controlled House passes "For the People" bill, which will remove all ID requirements, and...lots more
Late last night the House passed "H.R.-1 , which they've cunningly named the "For the People Act."
Yay!!
I mean, the title of the bill--given by the Democrats, of course--SAYS it's "For the People," and...I guess we're The People, aren't we? So...clearly the Democrats want us to think this is a good thing, right?
Well sure thing, citizen! Now, what do the 800 pages of this monstrosity actually DO?
Oh wait, was I not supposed to ask that? Oooh, sorry.
What it does is violate the Constitution's explicit provision that each state legislature shall establish rules for its elections as it sees fit. Instead this bill imposes one set of very...interesting... rules for all states, for holding federal elections.
Bars all states from requiring ANY identification from voters, photo or not. SAY, that's a benefit, eh? Well, benefits one party, at least.
Removes all requirements that people requesting absentee ballots have that request witnessed. So anyone claiming to be a random name, living at a post office box, can get a ballot. WOW, that's super!
Clears the way for making Washington DC and Puerto Rico state, giving the Democrats four more senators and a lock on the senate for decades. Yay! Wait, what does this have to do with vote "reform"? Oh, that's right: It gives the Dems a lock on total power. Got it.
Forces all states to allow total vote by mail. Fraud potential: huge.
Eliminates signature matching for mail-in ballots. Cuz we trust all voters to be honest.
Orders all states to automatically register everyone to vote when they get or renew a driver's license.
Also whenever someone changes their address
Or applies for welfare.
Or registers for a college class.
This would result in the registration of non-citizens, including illegals. It would also result in millions of people being registered multiple times, since states are barred from purging their voter rolls. Wow, that's a plus, eh? Makes massive election fraud SO much easier!
Specifically provides that anyone who ends up registered to vote when NOT eligible shall not be prosecuted. (Sec. 1015). Wow, such a deal, eh?
Orders taxpayer-financing of federal elections, "matching" donations of up to $200 6 to 1. This is explicitly designed enable challengers to use taxpayer funds to pay for their campaigns. So an extremist "community organizer" who raised half a million in small donations would have a taxpayer-funded war chest of $3 million. Gee, who does that benefit, eh?
The point is that with the Democrats controlling every branch of gruberment, this bill could order every citizen to pay a thousand bucks to the nearest panhandler or "community organizer" and it would still be guaranteed to pass, without a single Republican amendment.
One wag suggested that a more accurate name for this ghastly bill is "The We Hereby Establish Permanent One-Party Rule Act."
Isn't one-party rule WONDERFUL, comrade?
