Democrat congresscreep and 8 other Dems introduce bill to abolish electoral college
Is it possible to look at someone's face and tell damn near everything you need to know about 'em?
Take a look at the pic below. Does this person look honest? Sane? Would you trust him to babysit your kids?
The power-mad monster above is Democratic rep Steve Cohen from Tennessee. Yesterday, on his party’s first day in power, Cohen and 8 other Democrat congresswhores introduced a proposed constitutional amendment to abolish the Electoral College system of electing the president.
Of course you don't believe that. You can't imagine that the Democrats would do something that would so totally change a fundamental part of our Constitution. But remember who we're talking about, eh?
Cohen said in a statement that the proposal was inspired by his party’s defeats in two presidential elections in the past generation — Al Gore in 2000 and Hillary Clinton in 2016.
In those races, he said, “the winner of the popular vote did not win the election because of the distorting effect of the outdated Electoral College." He claimed that "Americans expect and deserve the winner of the popular vote to win office."
Ah yes, of course, cupcake. And now that your corrupt, ghastly, election-stealing party has the presidency and control of both the House and senate, you won't have any problem passing your power-grabbing amendment. Of course to make the amendment part of the Constitution requires that it be ratified by...um... three-fourths of the states that the amendment will grievously harm.
Oh wait, I forgot: Between the stolen election in November and the stolen Georgia senate seats, we're living under a new set of rules, in which any rule can be changed at the whim of Democrat rulers. So what can we expect?
You can expect an effort to pass another amendment, reducing the number of states needed to "ratify" a constitutional amendment. This one will be offered first, with the pretext that it's absolutely necessary to bring efficiency to the amendment process.
Yep yep yep. Efficiency, baby! Cuz you don't want an inefficient Constitution, do ya citizen?
Of course you don't! And rest assured that the Democrats will use their media allies to push this "efficiency" argument ad nauseum.
(For college-age Americans, the Electoral College system was a compromise put forth to persuade the small states to ratify the Constitution. Cuz the small states understandably feared that without the EC, all presidential elections would be decided by the big states.)
Oh, one more thing: The proposed amendment also abolishes the provision in the Contitution that the manner of elections shall be left to the states, and replaces it with
section 5. The times, places, and manner of holding such elections and entitlement to inclusion on the ballot shall be determined by Congress.
"Shall be determined by congress"? Hmmm...
And by the way: Cohen's proposed amendment is a head-fake. Yep, it's designed to get conservatives to focus on it, while the real Democrat effort to overturn the EC continues in the shadows.
Naturally you can't believe that. You think it's simply not possible.
I understand. Apparently you haven't been paying attention. Do a search for "National Popular Vote Interstate Compact." The Democrats have crafted a plan to abolish the Electoral College WITHOUT the difficulty (!) of amending the Constitution.
Wait...if the EC is a fundamental part of the Constitution, how can the Democrats abolish it WITHOUT amending the Constitution?
Yeah, dat's a great question. I'd tell you to look it up for yourself, but you're way too busy, eh? Besides, you're absolutely certain that the Supreme Court would never allow an election to be decided by the popular vote without a constitutional amendment, right?
Really? I'll bet you didn't think the Supreme Court would refuse to hear Texas's lawsuit claiming massive election fraud on the ground of "lack of standing." Yep, they said Texas didn't have "standing" to sue to have results of the six stolen states audited. Yet here we are, eh?
So since the Compact won't cause harm until it steals an election, then the Court will duck becaue "no damage." But after the election is stolen by the Compact, the court wouldn't intervene for exactly the same reason they refused to hear the Texas lawsuit.
New rules, baby. Laws are whatever the Democrats say they are. Is that cool or what?
