Y'know what this country needs? A group of thoughtful "activists" who'd force bookstores not to sell...certain books
Say, ya know what this country needs? A group of people who'll see to it that no books can be sold if they contain information that might disturb the Democrat party!
Yep yep yep. We wouldn't even need to use taxpayer dollars for this. Instead, civic-minded citizens would just volunteer their time to threaten any publisher thinking about publishing such a book, and any bookstore who had enough wrongthink to try to sell it.
Yes, that sounds like a perfect idea. We Democrats will get to work on that right away!
What?? You say we're too late? That an "activist group" in a large Democrat-ruled city, in a Dem-ruled state is already doing that?
That's so faaabulous! Once again the top minds in our party are right on the front lines, doing what needs to be done to ensure minds aren't fatally poisoned by wrongthink. So give us the details, citizen!
Ah yes, Antifa. We've heard of them. Totally peaceful, say they oppose fascism. Well sure, who doesn't? And y'say they basically shut the bookstore down for the day, screaming, until the store promised it would sell Andy's book, eh?
Well sure, that's only fair, right? Cuz I mean, the book calls Antifa "radical," so it's easy to see why they'd protest, eh? Cuz everyone know they're all peaceful n' sheeit. Warm, fuzzy, thoughtful people. Just like all Democrats.
Now if we could just get social media to cancel the accounts of anyone criticizing the Party, or claiming there was election fraud, or complaining about the lockdowns, or about having to take the vaccine, or blaming some wonderful foreign country for infecting the world--silly extremist talk like that. What a wonderful country we'd have, eh comrades?
On a related note, look how totally the bookstore grovelled at the feet of antifa, saying they had nothing to do with ordering the book, that it was just a software glitch that and that they immediately removed it from their shelves, and from their web catalog. Good job, store owners! No sense in risking losing business just to take a stand against censorship, eh?
Wait, I forgot: The Left has been screaming for a couple of years now that this is NOT censorship, cuz it's a business, and as everyone know, a business can make any rules it wants. Well, except refusing to bake a cake for tranny weddings.
Or take wedding pics for gay couples.
Or saying they thought the clients of their funeral home would be distracted by a six-foot-four, 260-pound male "funeral attendant" wearing a dress.
But at the same time the Left tells you it's perfectly fine for a bank to refuse to process credit-card or debit-card transactions for people or companies the left doesn't like.
Sure, it seems like the rules are kinda confusing, but really they're quite simple once you understand the governing principle: Whatever the Left says right this minute will be the rule...until the Left needs the rule to be something else.
