Americans believe the Dems' lies because the Mainstream Media never call 'em out
Our nation's founders knew human nature very well. One of the things they knew was that humans often lied to win power.
They also knew that an honest press (now "the media") would tell voters if a politician lied. Thus the importance of the First Amendment.
Problem is, the Lying Mainstream Media long ago became supporters of one party: the Democrats. Result is that any Dem favored by the Media can lie with total impunity, safe from being exposed.
Even before Trump won in 2016, the Dems and their media allies were working to convince voters that Trump was "colluding" with Russia to steal the election. Of course for this lie to be plausible, you'd have to believe that the Russians would rather have pro-America, pro-military, un-diplomatic Trump as president instead of anti-military, socialist-loving, Top-Secret revealing Hilliary as president. Only a moron could believe something so absurd.
But the Dems--led by former FBI director Comey and top FBI people Andy McCabe and his top aides agents Strzok and Lisa Page tried this anyway, buying a totally fabricated anti-Trump "report" ("the dossier") from a former Brit spy, hoping this would seal the deal for Hilliary.
That failed, so the Dems then moved to the "Ukraine quid pro quo,” in which the Dems claimed Trump threatened to withhold aid from that nation unless their government investigated Joe Biden.
This was the heart of the Dems' impeachment case.
Now they’re at it again, attacking Trump’s response to the coronavirus outbreak. During the last debate, then-candidate Mike Bloomberg claimed Trump had “defunded Centers for Disease Control, CDC, so we don’t have the organization we need.” This claim was seconded by Joe Biden who added, “He cut the funding for the entire effort.”
This was and is false. The New York Post wrote “It’s a lie that can only sow fear: The CDC budget is higher than when Trump took office. Same for the National Institutes of Health. And top career officials from both have been working with the White House for weeks to direct the US response.”
So one paper called Bloomberg and Biden on their lie. But millions of voters who saw the debate but don't take the NY Post never saw any media outlet call the Dems on the lie, so presumably accepted it as true. Mission accomplished.
Another example is the media and Dems claiming that the Earth is a) getting warmer; b) that this claimed warming is both unprecedented and dangerous; and that c) it's being caused by carbon dioxide, produced by burning oil, gas and coal.
All three claims are false, but almost half of all Americans--and a majority of young Americans--believe they're true. Which allows totalitarian-loving Democrat candidates to propose that the U.S. stop using oil, gas and coal for...everything.
They implicitly believe the modern industrial world can run on solar panels and windmills. Good luck.
The Dems also believe that if we'd just disarm, our enemies would do the same.
These lies and their dangers have been worsened over the last few decades by the decline in American education at every level. The millennials who comprise the passionate Bernie Bros are some of the worst-educated young people in American history. The Left's hijacking of history in particular has substituted “diversity” melodramas and left-wing propaganda for knowledge of historical data and the complex causes of events.
Lacking any understanding of history, it's hardly surprising that most Millennials believe the Left’s many lies.
