Mainstream media swooning over "mayor Pete's" proposal to decriminalize possession of meth and heroin
Hey, did you hear? With Biden and Warren in deep trouble, the Mainstream Media has decided that "mayor Pete" Buttigieg is the "cool" candidate to beat Trump! After all, he's gay and married to a man, which right there makes him gazillions of times cooler than that awful OrangeManBad, right?
And it gets even better! Last Sunday mayor Pete gave an interview with Chris Wallace in which he said that when he's elected he'll...decriminalize BOTH meth and heroin!
Is that, like, totally cool or what??
He explained that "while both drugs would still be technically illegal," mere possession would be a low-level misdemeanor instead of a felony, so NO JAIL TIME! That is, like, SO totally progressive!
See, Pete said "incarceration" (jail time) simply "doesn't work," so why bother? He says it "does more harm than good." And tons of really really cool Americans agree with him. For instance, why should we put people in prison for, say, giving Top Secret information to China or Russia when doing that clearly hasn't stopped peace-loving, global-thinking Americans from doing that, eh?
Same with, say, armed robbery. Clearly, people keep robbing banks and such, so it's clear that putting armed robbers in prison doesn't do any good. So why go to all the trouble? And while we're at it, why is that awful Trumpster keeping those poor former "mid-east freedom fighters" in prison in Guantanamo, anyway? It doesn't do any good, so why bother? We should let them out and fly 'em back to Afghanistan or wherever.
Frankly mayor Pete seems way smart, and with this latest proposal it's no wonder all the cool kids support his policies. Oh sure, a few raaacists and homophobes and haters claim there's some flaw in his reasoning, but I think they're just jealous that they aren't as smart as he is. Video below:
