University bars a speech criticizing Antifa; leftist expert says that's NOT infringing on freedom of speech, cuz...
It's instructive to see how far the Left has dragged other civilized western nations over the cliff, since the same leftists will try exactly the same thing here in a year or two.
Consider our northern neighbor, Canada. They're far more pro-Muslim, pro-trannie, and anti-free-speech than the U.S. Journalist Andy Ngo was scheduled to give a speech at the University of British Columbia on Jan 29 titled “Understanding Antifa Violence,” but the university later said he wouldn't be allowed to speak, citing “safety and security.”
Mr. Ngo is the American photojournalist who was viciously attacked by members of Antifa at a demonstration in Portland Oregon. There's video of a chickenshit Antifa asshole bashing Ngo in the back of the head with a concrete-filled 32-ounce cup. Overhead throw, like a pitcher. Ngo is lucky to be alive.
Since Canadian universities, like ours, love leftist demonstrators, the university bailed. Making this a day ending in Y. But here's where we start to see full-on left-wing, totalitarian dementia raise its ugly head:
A sh*t-head leftist who bills himself as a "free expression expert" said he believes the university is NOT infringing on free speech.
You read that right. The director of what claims to be the Centre for Free Expression at Ryerson University--a leftist moron named James Turk--explained it like this:
This was later spun as "The university doesn’t have a duty to host an event if it isn’t part of the university’s academic mission."
Of course they just pulled that out of their ass. The university will let anyone speak if they're pro-communist or anti-Israel or pro-tranny or pro-Muslim. Are those "part of the university's academis mission"? Of course not. But just what is that mission? Is it written down? If not, would anyone care to guess who always determines exactly what IS their mission?
And of course that alleged mission can be totally reversed in five minutes if a left-wing group wants to speak. See, university adminishits are, like, totally flexible, right?
It's a mark of superior reasoning, citizen.

“The speaker has every right to express his views--freedom of expression. And this student group has every right to find a place to hold an event to let the speaker express his views--again, freedom of expression. It’s just that the university doesn’t have an obligation to be that place."BTW, UBC is a public university, funded largely by taxpayers.
