Vote fraud in Detroit in 2016? Nah, ain't no such thing as vote fraud...
In legitimate elections, would-be voters "sign in" to "poll books," which list every registered voter in the precinct. So in honest elections, optical ballot scanners should NEVER show more votes than the number of people who signed in in the poll books, eh?
Basic stuff, right?
Well, bet you never saw this: According to the Detroit News, an investigation of official county records just after the 2016 election revealed that in almost 40 percent of the precincts in Wayne County--that's Detroit--voting machines tallied more votes than the number of voters tallied by workers in
the poll books.
In Detroit and Wayne
County, Hillary Clinton won overwhelmingly. By contrast, president Trump won Michigan, though by just
10,704 votes--two-tenths of one percent of the total vote.
But if you favor laws that would make would-be voters show photo ID to vote, or demand that cities purge the dead and people who have moved away from voter rolls, or if you back any of the half-dozen other measures to reduce vote fraud, Democrats scream that you're a raaaacist!
Besides, "everyone knows" there's no such thing as fraudulent votes in our elections. Yep yep yep. So how do Democrat election officials in Wayne County explain more scanned votes than the number of living humans who signed in to vote?
Um...uh..."No wrongdoing. Just honest mistakes." Yeah, you bet. Just like Comey and the FBI.
