Get on the bandwagon, citizen. "Historic."

One of the most effective ways to get uninformed people to agree with you is to tout whatever you're pushing as "historic" and "unprecedented."  This works because of a principle called the "bandwagon effect," in which most people desperately want to be part of the "cool crowd."  If something big, historic, unprecedented is said to be happening, they want to be "with it."

CNN and other media outlets know this very well, which is why they're constantly repeating the word "historic" to describe the Dems' move to impeach Trump for a slew of acts that are legal but which the Dems don't like.  Take a look:
