UK's government health-care eliminates basic tests. Dem pols think "medicare for all" will work better

Every Democrat presidential candidate says he or she favors what the Dem strategists have cunningly termed "Medicare for all."

They deliberately called it "Medicare for all" because the more familiar terms "government-run health care," "socialized medicine" and "just like they get at the Veterans' Administration" didn't poll nearly as well with voters over 30.

That would be because most Americans over 30 who aren't morons know that "socialized medicine" is a really, really bad deal.  Why?  Because government-run medical care ALWAYS ends up being rationed, meaning most of the "care" goes to politicians and other elites, while ordinary taxpayers end up not even being allowed to get X-rays for broken bones.

Of course you can't believe that, because you can't believe any rational adult would support abolishing our excellent medical-care system, in which every consumer is encouraged to seek out the best solution for him or her or their family.

That's SO un-hip, citizen!

Socialist pols point to the U.K's National Health Service as a great example of how well government-run medical care works.  So let's see what the NHS is doing:

The NHS has announced that it now considers something as basic as cataract surgery or repairing a hernia to be “unnecessary treatment.”  PSA tests (testing for prostate cancer) would be eliminated, ostensibly because they could "cause anxiety" in men screened:
In total some 34 diagnostic tests and treatments for patients in England have been highlighted for the cull by the NHS and doctors’ groups.  Among the treatments highlighted are CT and MRI scans and blood tests for cancer.
Bureaucrats argue that these scans and tests could cause anxiety, so patients may be better off without them.  This is a bullshit excuse, since obviously learning that you DON'T have a serious condition is a huge relief.  The official party line implies that NHS claims it's better for a serious condition to go untreated than for patients to get upset by learning about it.

The real purpose, of course, is to save money. Yet again we see how awful the results are for "ordinary" citizens when healthcare is free.  Which is to say, you eventually don't get any of the things we take for granted in the U.S. today.

Meanwhile the NHS is free to use the savings from eliminating routine tests to provide sex-change surgery: as of today an NHS clinic was still providing gender reassignment treatment to kids as young as 3 years.

As many have noted:  If you wanna know what government-ruled, government-run, no-options, no-competition health care will be like, imagine health care being run by your state's Department of Motor Vehicles.

Yeah, thought that might get your attention.  Now go out and vote Democrat, cuz that's what you deserve.  At least that's what the Dem pols claim.
