Dems in Cali cities ban straws, cuz environmentalism, but giving free syringes to addicts...?

You may have noticed that many liberal-ruled cities have banned...plastic straws.  The claimed reason is that they're hard to recycle, litter the environment and don't decompose.

So based on those arguments how do you think liberals in LA and San Fran would react to a proposal by fellow Democrats to give free syringes to all drug addicts?  For those new to the planet, once the druggies finish shooting up they drop the syringe on the street.  Can't be recycled, litter the environment AND present a health risk to anyone who steps on one or otherwise gets stuck.

Based on the arguments the Dems used to ban straws you wouldn't think they'd distribute a million "free" syringes every year, eh?

In fact the programs to give away needles were dictated by the same Dem politicians who run both cities.  Once voters elected the Dems, they didn't have a further say in the question of free syringes.

Interesting how the exact same arguments the Dems used to ban straws were suddenly totally irrelevant when it came to giving "free" syringes to IV-drug addicts, eh?
