Obama caught in yet another flat lie--proven, no wiggle room. Media yawns

This story may strike you as trivial, but it reveals how effortlessly the Obozo administration lies to you.  Daily.

Obama has an uncle--Onyango Obama--who lives in Boston.  He came here on a student visa in 1963 but like so many others, after his visa expired he simply stayed here illegally.  He was living quite openly in Boston but somehow our immigration officials couldn't manage to deport him.

Then in August of 2011 uncle Onyango was arrested for drunk driving. The arrest revealed outstanding deportation orders--obviously ignored--and his relationship to the president.

Having an illegal-immigrant uncle, arrested for drunk driving and found to have ignored numerous court orders to leave the U.S. had the potential to cost Obama a few million votes, and it prompted a reporter for the Boston Globe to ask why the president didn't just issue an executive order granting the uncle amnesty.

Of course the White House didn't want the public to associate Obama with the scofflaw drunk uncle, so the White House press office responded by telling the Boston Globe that the president barely knew the guy, and that in fact it had no record that the two had ever met.

Well yesterday uncle Onyango appeared in court for yet another hearing--one that would result in his being given permanent legal residence--and he said that Obama had lived with him in Boston for three weeks when Obama started law school.

Uh...oops.

If you think the White House staff didn't *thoroughly*, exhaustively discuss how to handle the situation of the president's scofflaw drunk illegal-alien uncle then I've got a mandatory health-insurance law you're gonna absolutely *love*!

But if they discussed how to handle it, wouldn't you think *someone* would have thought to ask Obama whether he knew the guy and how he wanted them to respond?  Or do you think the press secretary turned to some low-level munchkin in the press office and said "Hey Cindy, just take your best guess as to the facts and that'll be fine"?

Oh, wait...that's the line the White House is actually taking!  Here's the Boston Globe:
On Thursday a White House official said the press office had not fully researched the relationship between the president and his uncle before telling the Globe in 2011 that it had no record of the two meeting. This time, press office staff members asked the president directly, which they said they had not done in 2011.
The mind boggles at the audacity of these people.  It's like a guy who's caught on hi-def video shooting someone and indignantly saying "Who are you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?"

Obviously the White House press office knew.  But to keep from losing crucial votes, they simply lied.

If you want to go naive and claim it's really true that no one actually *asked* Obama for the facts, then that means Obama let the false statement stand--for two years, until the uncle incautiously revealed the lie.

If this doesn't convince you that Obama and his minions have a casual, callous contempt for both the truth and for you, you'll want to join the huge movement to allow him to ignore the Constitution's term limits and run again.
