Wokie Massachusetts city council votes to remove shot-spotter, cuz...raaaaacis'!

Cambridge, Massachusetts.  One of the top hotspots of wokie stupidity.  For the last 12 years they've had a "shot-spotter" system, but two months ago the commie city council voted to remove it.  Not just turn it off, but to spend extra money to remove all the pole-mounted microphones so it can't ever be turned back on again.  Classic. 

The system is paid for by federal tax dollars and was working as designed.  Obviously it doesn't prevent someone from shooting someone, but at least the cops are alerted essentially instantly and can send a car to the location to see if there's a victim and render aid if there is.  So it could sometimes save a life by getting medics to the victim fast.

So why did the woke council turn the system off?

The ACLU argued that the system is inaccurate, intrusive, and incompatible with Cambridge’s surveillance and sanctuary-city ordinances.

Cambridge police began using ShotSpotter in 2014, and since then only 35 percent of the notifications sent through the system were confirmed as gunfire. 

There could have been lots more gunshots but if no one was hit, and no witnesses were willing to come forward, how would you know it wasn't a gunshot?  And note the Harvard Crimson leftist propagandist cunningly refused to ask how many gunshots have been detected by the system.

The lead sponsor of the move to order the removal of the system [Muslim city council commie Ayah A. Al-Zubi --a Hahvahd grad, born in Jordan] said the city should evaluate surveillance technologies against “measurable standards” — including accuracy, cost, or resident input, before adopting them.

Yeah, bitch, but this was already in place, paid for, and working as specified.  The real reason you and your commie comrades in the ACLU demanded it be removed is that you're pro-shooting, as long as it's your allies doing the shooting.  All your bleating about "invasion of privacy" and "surveillance" is utter horseshit--camouflage to make you look reasonable.

You and your ACLU allies claim the color-blind system is raaaacist cuz guess where most gunshots are detected?

She continued, “It’s got a higher false positive rate here and in cities across the U.S., in which case I believe the benefit does not outweigh the risks of situations where our police department might be misled.”

What utter horseshit!  Even the company that sells the system says it alerts for anything that sounds like a gunshot, so car backfires and firecrackers, but how is that a RISK for cops, communist bitch?  And most rational people would believe that if the system enables cops to find and save even one victim a year, it's a good idea. 

I thought you bastards always bleated "Even if it saves just one life, it's worth it!"  Oh wait, that's only when you're trying to confiscate all civilian-owned guns!  Otherwise you don't give a shit: you oppose anything that would save lives taken by your ghastly thugs.
