I think the GOP just lost the midterms
Well well well....the Media are giddy, celebrating the alleged war between Musk and Trump.
Musk called the "big beautiful bill" a sellout. "Disgusting." "Debt slavery." Claims Trump wouldn't have won without his $300 million funding. He's threatening to primary Republican members of congress who vote for the bill. He says the tariffs will cause a recession.
And the big bombshells: Musk claims Trump is in the Epstein files--and says he should be impeached.
Some of Musk's anger seems to be due to to the bill not continuing the $7,500 taxpayer-funded subsidy for every EV. But in any case...
I believe the Democrats just won the midterms. Let me explain:
I suspect that last November about 5% of Trump voters voted for him only because they recognized that Cackles was far worse. Of that group, now that Cackles is out, perhaps one out of five won't feel the need to vote for Trump again. Then we have independents, who comprise close to 40% of voters. Exit polls suggest this group broke roughly 60-40 for Trump. So 60% of the 40% of independents makes 24% of all voters went for Trump. If just ten percent of that group defects, that's 2.4% of all voters.
So...2.4% here, one percent of 2024 votes for the GOP that were more worried about Cackles. What would that do?
Take just the votes in the so-called "battleground states." Subtract 3.4% from the GOP and add that to the Dems, and voilá.
Sorry about that. Wish I had good news.
