Democrat groups send ‘Voter Report Card’ letters to voters in 4 states

In the past few days tens of thousands of mysterious letters--titled “Voting Report Card” and giving the recipients’ voting histories and those of their neighbors— have appeared in mailboxes in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Mexico and California, among other states.

The letters say “We're sending this to you and your neighbors to share who does and does not vote.  We will be reviewing these records after the election to determine whether you joined your neighbors in voting."

Pure intimidation.  And studies show that this tactic is especially effective on poorly-educated voters.

The two groups sending the letters call themselves the "Voter Participation Center" and the "Center for Voter Information."  Both groups describe themselves as nonpartisan, but both are headed by the same long-time Democrat operative--a fact the Post buries in the 17th paragraph.

Maryland’s attorney general says the letters violate state law, and has ordered the two groups sending the letters to stop sending them.

The CEO of both groups is Thomas Lopach, a long-time Democrat operative.  Lopach did not immediately return a call requesting comment.  Tax filings show both are funded by tens of millions of dollars from undisclosed donors.  The money is funneled through nonprofits, which aren't required to disclose their donors.

Before heading the two groups, Lopach directed the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee from 2014 to 2016 and the Committee for a Democratic Majority from 1999 to 2007, among other Democratic posts.

The groups were founded by Page Gardner, a Democratic strategist who worked on several presidential and congressional election campaigns, according to the groups’ websites.
During the 2020 presidential election year, they spent more than $100 million on efforts to get unmarried women and "people of color" to vote.

A secretive Silicon Valley organization called "Mind the Gap" specifically urged wealthy Democrat donors to give money to both groups.

The leader of Mind the Gap is a Stanford law professor, Barbara Fried.  If you follow Dem donations you may recognize that name: she's the mother of Democrat mega-donor and crypto fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried.

The Washington Post carefully omitted that little fact, cuz Sam donated hundreds of millions of investor funds to the biden campaign.  Interesting omission from the Dem-fellating WaPo, eh?

Post editors: "Why wud dat be relevant to dis story?  Sam Whatshisname din' donate to deez two groups, so how could it possibly help ouah readers to know Barbara's son was Sam?"
