A summary of Fauci's innumerable lies about the origin of duh Chyna virus he funded
The piece below is edited from David Zweig, and summarizes what we now know about Fauci's innumerable lies about the origins of covid. I plan to keep posting about this as long as I live, because the Deep State is determined to erase all evidence of Fauci's lies, and the Media's uncritical parroting of them.
At a press briefing on April 17, 2020, with most states having ordered draconian lockdowns, and the Media screaming about "overwhelmed hospitals" (most of those tales were quietly revealed to be utter horseshit), Fauci--the most influential member of the president’s covid "task force," was asked Was there a possibility that this new, deadly virus came from a lab in Wuhan, China?
Fauci replied “There was a study recently where a group of *highly qualified evolutionary virologists* looked at the sequences [in covid-19] and in bats as they evolve, and the mutations that it took to get to where it is now is totally consistent with a jump of a species from an animal to a human.”
Didja get that? Translated from gobblespeak (a.k.a. baffle-gab), he was NOT saying "It couldn't have come from a lab," but that's how what he did say was reported by *every single Media outlet.* Interesting.
Again, he did NOT say "There's no possibility it came from a lab," but that the mutations needed to get the bat virus to be lethal to humans were "totally consistent with a jump of a species from an animal to a human.
But this was and is utter horseshit--as every honest scientist who'd seen the side-by-side comparisons of the genetic code knew at the time. Yet the Media said "No possibility."
Fauci's evasion set the pattern for everything he said over the next three years: evasion, deception and perhaps most important, his false denials about his support of high-risk "gain of function" research at the Wuhan lab that produced the virus that killed millions world-wide.
Fauci repeatedly insisted that the epidemic which clearly started in Wuhan, China was unlikely to have been the result of an escape from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Instead he pushed the idea that the virus "evolved naturally" and made the jump to humans from a Chinese eating an infected bat--or perhaps a pangolin--at a market for exotic foods.
But Fauci had a huge incentive to mislead Americans about the deadly virus that started in Wuhan: The WIV was known for doing risky research manipulating coronaviruses. And Fauci, as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for almost 40 years, had funded such research at the WIV.
What you don't know--and which Fauci knew the Media would never tell you--is that *every* coronavirus known has been gene-sequenced and *the sequences have been published on-line.* That meant that as soon as C-19 was sequenced, we'd know whether it "evolved naturally," as Fauci implied, or...not.
For those who don't yet get it: There are only two possible ways for the harmless-to-humans bat virus to become lethal to humans: Either it "evolved naturally" (by mutations--Fauci's claim), or else it was "modified" by humans. In a lab. Those are the ONLY two choices. Got it?
Fauci’s sneering dismissal of the idea that the virus had been modified to make it lethal to humans--and later his effort to get the Media to ridicule anyone who believed that--set the official Narrative about the origin of the virus. It was a narrative that was faithfully parroted by the government, public health officials, and the media, even while Trump was president. Later the FBI pressured social media platforms--at the request of the biden regime--to delete user posts claiming the virus was modified in a Chinese lab.
But last month a trove of explosive emails and other documents were released by the U.S. House Select Subcommittee on the coronavirus. They showed-- unequivocally--that Fauci and other officials *knew* the virus couldn't have evolved naturally, *yet Fauci claimed the opposite.*
The smoking gun is shown in emails between Fauci and the authors of a paper Fauci arranged to be published in March of 2020 claiming the virus evolved naturally. The emails show that the authors of that paper—later called the “Proximal Origin” paper—actually did NOT believe the virus evolved naturally. So how did they end up publishing a paper saying exactly the opposite?
The paper that Fauci recommended was published on March 17, 2020. But in February, just the month before, one of the paper’s authors (Kristian Andersen) wrote a Slack message to his colleagues saying: “[T]he lab escape version of this is so friggin’ likely to have happened because they were already doing this type of work *and the molecular data is fully consistent with that scenario.”*
Wait...what did he mean by "the molecular data"? Later I'll show you.
Another co-author (Robert Garry) wrote on Slack the same month: “It’s not crackpot to suggest this could have happened, *given the gain-of-function research we know is happening.”*
Wait..."the gain-of-function research we KNOW is happening"? I thought Fauci denied that was happening! Oh wait...he denied he funded it. Except that was a provable lie.
These are but a few examples of their recorded correspondence showing they didn't buy Fauci's bullshit about "evolved naturally."
Again: How did the belief among the authors of the infamous paper change so totally from "couldn't have evolved naturally" to the opposite?
Bribery.
As the paper was being drafted--from February through early March, when it was accepted by the journal Nature Medicine--Andersen had an $8.9 million grant under review by the NIAID, which Fauci headed. In May, after the paper was published, Anderson's grant was approved.
Scientists are supposed to be unbiased, yet Fauci pushed a biased view. Scientists who raised concerns and questions about our Covid-19 response were regularly demonized, even by a government official directly under Fauci’s charge.
During his decades as head of NIAID, Fauci had final approval on literally billions of dollars each year in research grants and contracts, some of which were awarded explicitly for what is commonly referred to as “gain-of-function research:” modifying viruses to make them more transmissible and/or deadly to humans.
Fauci has long supported this type of research. And, despite pleas for it to stop, for at least a decade this dangerous research has been funded by Fauci's NIAID. Fauci lied to congress that his agency had *never* funded this research, but the funding is documented in papers published by the Wuhan Institute, thanking the NIH and NIAID for funding the most infamous gain-of-function study in history.
There is no ambiguity: the NIH and NIAID have funded and supported this work. Yet Fauci, and his then-boss Collins, during the Covid years, repeatedly denied their involvement. That is, they lied.
In May 2021, Collins issued this statement:
>>Neither NIH nor NIAID have ever approved any grant that would have supported “gain-of-function” research on coronaviruses that would have increased their transmissibility or lethality for humans.>>
Why would Collins put out a statement denying what is clearly true? In a word: Wuhan.
Though complex, the facts here are unequivocal. The NIH gave millions of dollars to a nonprofit called EcoHealth Alliance. From that pot of money, EcoHealth funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars in sub-awards to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Grant applications to NIH from EcoHealth explicitly spell out work involving the creation of deadlier or more transmissible pathogens. It said the researchers would use "humanized mice" (mice genetically engineered to have cells in their airways identical to human cells) to test their vulnerability to new viruses.
For those unfamiliar with this language, this would allow them to test how well modified coronaviruses could infect humans. Of course the Media told ya that, right? Oh wait...they didn't.
Yet in November 2021, when Senator Rand Paul specifically asked Fauci if his agency had funded this research, Fauci responded “gain-of-function is a very nebulous term” and that a considerable amount of effort had been spent “to give a more precise definition to the type of research that is of concern that might lead to a dangerous situation.” Paul shot back, “You’re defining away gain-of-function. You’re simply saying it doesn’t exist because you changed the definition on the NIH website!”
Richard Ebright—a molecular biologist strongly critical of gain-of-function research--says Fauci was playing semantic games to lie about funding the research.
In July of this year the House subcommittee released what appears to be an extremely incriminating email that Fauci sent on February 1, 2020, to multiple high-level officials, including Francis Collins. Fauci wrote “scientists in Wuhan University are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments” on bat viruses, and that there was “suspicion” that mutations seen in SARS-CoV-2 were NOT natural but had been “intentionally inserted.”
This totally contradicts his answers to Rand Paul.
Evidence of Fauci’s purposeful evasiveness can also be seen through the actions of a direct subordinate. Two months after Collins denied funding gain-of-function research, David Morens, a senior advisor to the director of the NIAID—at the time, Fauci—emailed reporter Jason Gale: “Tony doesn't want his fingerprints on origin stories.”
Later, in an interview with National Geographic, published September 2021, Morens, like Fauci, was careful to say all possibilities should be pursued, yet immediately followed by saying that continuing to look into the possibility that the virus was modified in a lab was “wasting time and being crazy.”
In September 2021, Morens emailed Peter Daszak, the head of EcoHealth Alliance: “I try to always communicate on gmail because my NIH email is FOIA’d constantly.” That email is a clear admission of deliberately attempting to avoid public records requests, in violation of NIH policy. If you have nothing to hide, why try to hide emails from FOIA requests?
In one of his most outrageous statements, when Fauci was asked about his critics he said, “They’re really criticizing science because I represent science. That’s dangerous.”
In the fall of 2020--9 months into the plandemic--a group of public health experts from Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford recommended focusing protection against Covid-19 on the elderly and vulnerable, letting the rest of society operate normally. In response Collins emailed Fauci calling them “fringe epidemiologists,” and said there needed to be a “devastating takedown” of their idea.
A week later Fauci began publicly dismissing their approach as “dangerous” and “nonsense”--a characterization the media repeated endlessly.
As research has continued into the virus’s origins, the evidence increasingly supports the idea that it was modified in a lab. In February of this year a report by the Department of Energy concluded that it was likely the virus escaped from a lab (meaning it was modified in that lab). This echoed a similar conclusion from the FBI.
In March, in an interview on CNN, Fauci offered a creative scenario for how what *appeared to be a lab leak* may not have meant the virus was altered by humans: “A lab leak could be that someone was out in the wild, maybe looking for different types of viruses in bats, got infected, went into a lab, and it was being studied in a lab and then it came out of the lab,” Fauci said. “If that’s the definition of a lab leak, then that still is a natural occurrence.”
It's worth noting that in over three and a half years no one has yet found a virus in bats that contains the four inserted genes found in covid-19.
Fauci is a lying, corrupt rat-bastard. Yet the power of the Dem/Deep-State complex is so great that he will never be punished, or even charged.
