Formerly gay university professor is fired after announcing he's re-discovered religion and is no longer gay
If you're a queer or tranny professor, you'll never be fired. Well, unless you declare you're not gay any longer. If you do that, you're fired.
Naturally you think that's hyperbole--"fake newz." Just another crazy right-wing rumor, eh?
Yeah, well...don't tell that to Daniel Mattson, formerly a music prof at Western Michigan University.
For 25 years Mattson--then openly gay--had a successful academic career at WMU. But when he re-discovered his Catholic faith and declared that he was no longer gay, a lesbian prof started a campaign against him. The university president, the dean of its College of Fine Arts, the director of music became openly hostile to him and didn't renew his contract.
In 2017 Mattson wrote a piece titled "Why I Don’t Call Myself Gay: How I Reclaimed My Sexual Reality and Found Peace." In the fall of 2021 queer campus activists discovered that piece--and started complaining to the university's adminishits.
Much of the uproar was fanned by a lesbian professor, Lauron Kehrer. Her bio says “she's written articles on queer identity," and that "her research focuses on the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality in American popular music.”
Mattson alleges that “Professor Kehrer started a campaign to restrict and cancel his planned events as a guest artist, [and] engaged students, other faculty members, and administrators in this effort, notably the Dean of the College of Fine Arts (Defendant Guyette) and his Special Assistant for Diversity and Inclusion, Kenlana Ferguson.”
The complaint includes a copy of a tweet from Kehrer declaring “I will not be going to any recitals by ex-gay activists.” Yep, sounds very hostile, and specifically cites the fact that she was hostile to Mattson because he'd said he was no longer homosexual.
To militant queers that's like waving a red flag in front of a bull. Or maybe just "a cow with horns." Yeah, dat way bettah.
Campus queers denounced Mattson’s Catholic views as "offensive." See, the Media and Democrat regime have officially ruled that pro-homosexual, pro-tranny views are perfectly delightful. But when "student activists" scream that Catholic views are "offensive," university adminishits totally support the "activists.". See how that works?
If you're not in academia you may think professors can't be fired for their views because they have "tenure." Certainly that's true of tenured professors. But the percentage of tenured professors has been declining for half a century, and today about three-quarters of faculty positions aren't tenured, but work on an annual contract, which universities can decide not to renew for any reason.
As most of you already instantly realize, this works as a control mechanism: If you don't *totally* support the left/liberal/Democrat party line, your contract won't be renewed--which almost always ends any chance of an academic career.
And today's Democrats put "gender" and sexual orientation right up there with "reparations" as rings professors must kiss.
Greg Manco, a professor at St. Joseph’s University, had his academic career ended because he criticized demands for reparations. The university’s leftist HR department (redundancy alert) accused Manco of "posting biased or discriminatory statements." After an investigation he was cleared, but because he'd criticized a Democrat policy--failed to kiss the ring--his contract wasn't renewed.
And note that if you worked for a company and got fired, the LAW allows you to sue for some variant of "wrongful firing." But universities don't have to state ANY reason for not renewing a contract.
Amazing, eh? If you think that's an accident I've got some oceanfront property in Nebraska I'll sell you.
If you don't think the queers and trannies are running the damn universities, you're too stupid to breed. And the fact that they're running "higher education" is NOT an accident.
If you're starting to figure it out, great. Unfortunately it's probably too late.
