Leftist prof tweets, whining that white boys are going "alt-right;" white college freshman writes rebuttal
(Post below is adapted from "An 18-year-old explains why young White men are becoming radicalized," by Andrea Widburg at American Thinker.)
In a nation beset--to the point of destruction--by nation-wrecking problems, the whinings of Karens on Twatter are usually of no concern. But once in awhile some Karen bleats something that accidentally reveals one of the real bombshells the Left has set in motion.
Essayist Andrea Widburg found one such, from one Danna Goldthwaite Young, a female "communications professor" at the U of Delaware. I know you'll be shocked to learn that Danna is a leftist who sees most boys--more specifically WHITE middle-school boys--as threatening, hateful and embracing non-woke, right-wing ideas.
Danna wrote that her teenage son--definitely woke and not at all threatening--told her that he thought almost every white middle school boy was "in the alt-right pipeline until something/someone pulls them out."
Ah yes, the "alt-right pipeline." Would that be the crazed druggie who killed the kids at Uvalde? That alt-right? Of course Ramos wasn't even remotely right-wing, but that's the model Danna's son brings to mind.
Danna's very questionable leftist assertion came to the attention of Daniel Schmidt, an 18-year-old freshman at the University of Chicago, who wrote a pretty fair rebuttal--so good that Danna has now locked her Twatter account. Here's Daniel's reply (edited):
I'm an 18-year-old white male, and I can offer some perspective on @dannagal's thread. From my experience, here's what's really happening:
Imagine you're an 8th-grade boy. You're constantly told by teachers--mostly leftist females--by the media and maybe even by your parents, that you're privileged because you're a boy.
But this just makes you confused. You start trying to reconcile that claim with what you see. You notice school counselors spending lots of effort on helping girls with college applications, while you and your male peers are ignored. There are hundreds of scholarships for girls only, none for boys only, cuz that would violate Title IX. No one explains how scholarships only open to girls is legal under the same Civil Rights Act. Everyone just ignores it.
When college acceptances come out you notice many more girls than boys get into top universities. Colleges accept more girls than boys--but you're still repeatedly told that white boys are privileged. When you ask how, exactly, the answer is simply to repeat the naked assertion.====
If you tour college campuses you hear the guides bragging about student organizations like Women in Law, Women in Business, and Women in Science. Any similar organizations for men? Nope. But we're privileged.
Eventually you notice that the only people willing to talk about the issues facing men are so-called "alt-right" figures like Jordan Peterson.
On top of the alienation you experience for merely being a boy, you're told by teachers, the media, and maybe even your parents that you should feel guilty for being white. Why? You hear endless repetitions by elites that "The U.S. was built by blacks," and that the Founders were all raaacists because they owned slaves--at a time when that was common around the world.
So why, exactly, do schools want you to feel bad for being white? If you even ask the question the school goes crazy. No one can explain, they simply repeat the same phrases again and again. So instead of debating it, your male friends say nothing.
Your friends feel increasingly alienated. This is particularly ironic given the huge "woke" push for "diversity and inclusion: " Those initiatives don't include you or any of your friends. The never-ending barage of anti-white messaging from teachers and the media is relentless. If you're not super-confident it's demoralizing.
The only place that seems to accept white males is the Internet.
Elites--including people like professor Danna--think it's fine to demonize white males as dangerous or useless. And because the Democrat party runs all universities, and the Media supports Democrat party policies, these ideas are given fawning treatment.
If not for the gushing support of this crap by academics, school boards and media, none of it would have gotten a foothold. But here we are. For the first time in America's history, the demographic that wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and played a key role in bringing free market benefits to the world is being demonized by American elites--and as a result they're dropping out of society in massive numbers.
It's not a coincidence that this is the group most likely to challenge a corrupt, tyrannical government determined to take away freedoms we've always enjoyed.
Danna Young's solution (before she locked her twatter account)? "Inclusive programming and a critical historical lens."
Say, would you mind explaining that--since you're a "communications professor"? Cuz it sounds like your real goal is to demoralize and demonize young white males.
