sf says...: In 1984 a KGB defector predicted all this, saying it was part of a carefully-planned communist plot.

I posted the essay below a few days after the presidential election. In light of all that the Biden regime has done in the scant months since then, it seemed like a good time to re-post it.

Most Americans over the age of 25 or so have at least heard the name "Saul Alinsky."
Alinski was a communist organizer who wrote "Rules for Radicals," which he dedicated to Satan.
Seriously. Literally. Find "Rules for Radicals" in your local library, and unless it's been re-bound it will say that right before the inside title page. Astonishing.
As Alinksy intended, the "rules" he described became routine tools for the Democrat Party, just as Karl Marx laid out the strategy for communism a century earlier. Oh, and as an aside: When Hilliary Clinton was a senior at Wellesley she dedicated her capstone paper to...Saul Alinsky.
But while many Americans have heard at least something about Alinsky, almost no one has heard of Yuri Bezmenov (also transcribed as Bezhmenov)-- a member of the Soviet equivalent of our CIA (the KGB), who defected to the Canada in the 1970's and later came to the U.S.
In 1984 Bezmenov described a detailed communist strategy for defeating the U.S. without firing a shot. He claimed this plan had been devised by Soviet strategists years earlier and that they'd been actively working to implement that strategy in the U.S. ever since.
Bezmenov described four stages of the communist plan--and if you're over 40 you'll recognize all of those stages in events here in the last 30 years, culminating in the current wave of left-wing riots, and the bizarre, politically-driven lockdown orders after the Chinese virus was released.
I've watched the hour-long video, and if you give a damn you should too. The guy is very convincing--and I can't see a plausible motive for him to fabricate this.

Stage 1: De-moralization
As the Soviets use this term it doesn't mean "defeatist" or similar. Instead they mean getting American citizens to reject conventional morality, since without a strong grounding in morality people can't recognize threats or evil--both are simply rationalized away as being "value judgments," which no one can criticize cuz all such judgments are equal in their effects on a society, right?
Bezmenov says the communists taught that this stage would take about 30 years, and would be guided by the media (this is before the term "Mainstream Media" was coined) and "entertainment industry." We've all seen this beginning around 1980 as songs glorifying violence against women and police, glorifying drugs and force, inexplicably got huge air-play--allegedly because these values had suddenly become hugely popular.
We've also witnessed the "war on some religions" by the Mainstream Media and Hollywood, in which Christians are portrayed as dumb, backward, unsophisticated hicks. By huge contrast, in movies and TV the "cool people" casually joke about "Bible-thumpers." But interestingly, there are never any jokes about "Koran-thumpers." Never. (Even the hipster's favorite cartoon, South Park, got slammed by the "hip" crowd for daring to allow a figure said to be Mohammed to appear.)
Because de-moralization rejects all conventional moral values, a de-moralized population can't process valid information. Thus when one party--with the help of every Mainstream Media outlet in the country--tells citizens (potential voters) their party can order the government to "give free stuff" to most citizens, without any risk to the long-term health of the society, citizens who lack conventional moral values don't have the ability to recognize the obvious fallacy.
Bezmenov explained that even when de-moralized targets are given “authentic proof” that they're being fed obvious, outragous lies, they simply refuse to believe it.
A population de-coupled from morality would have no qualms about politicians taking bribes, or selling their office and using our foreign policy to make millions. Brazen, open violations of, say, election laws--like barring observers from monitoring vote counting, or a court blythely re-writing a duly-passed law on when ballots must be submitted to be counted as valid--would be laughed off by members of the cheating party because after all, "laws" are merely guidelines, and in any case all laws passed before 1992 are unfair cuz so many of 'em were written by da eeebil Whitey. (Even the U.S. Supreme Court allowed a state court to re-write Pennsylvania election law--something courts aren't supposed to be allowed to do--after Roberts sided with liberals.)

Stage 2: Destabilization
The communists believed the second stage, destabilization, would be much faster, only taking two to five years under KGB doctrine. In this stage the targeted population’s economy, political system, and culture would be attacked, while the demoralized population would not mount much of a defense. Thus we've seen one party make giveaway trade "deals"--deals praised to the skies by the Media as the greatest things since sliced bread--that were hugely damaging to our own economy. Yet the Media praised 'em lavishly. NAFTA. Or Hilliary's push for the awful TPA.
Same for Obama's "Iran nuclear deal," which ended the painstakingly-negotiated system of sanctions that was intended to motivate the Iranian regime to allow inspections to ensure it wasn't violating its agreements not to develop an atom bomb. The "deal" gave everything away, with nothing in return.
Equally ghastly, even though the "deal" was unquestionably a treaty--which the Constitution explicitly requires must be "ratified" by a two-thirds vote of the Senate before it would bind the U.S., corrupt Democrat senators--knowing they didn't have even close to the needed number of votes to ratify the awful "deal"-- cunningly devised a way to violate that explicit Constitutional provision: They simply declared...wait for it... that the treaty wasn't a treaty after all, but merely...an "agreement."
While this was hotly called out by conservatives, not a single member of the Mainstream Media said a single critical word. Once again, Democrats brazenly violated the Constitution to support their emperor.

Stage 3: Crisis
Once a society has been destabilized, Bezmenov said a Crisis would "happen." In 1984 he said the communists believed it would take six to eight weeks for the U.S. government to get a now-thoroughly-de-moralized population to accept unprecedented "emergency orders" taking away prior freedoms. These "emergency orders" would of course be totally necessary because of the alleged crisis.
Enter the Chinese virus.
The crisis--aggressively pushed by the Media--would cause demoralized, destabilized citizens to panic, thus to not object when government seized unprecedented powers. Americans would willingly give up rights and Constitutional ideals, cuz the Media and Deep-State shills were screaming "If you don't, you're gonna die! And worse yet, you'll kill your kids! And your elderly parents!"
Sure enough, during the coronavirus panic anyone who objected to the lockdowns and mandatory mask wearing was treated like a mass murderer. If you wanted to work at the store so you could feed your family in late March, the Media claimed you were selfishly trying to “kill my Grandma to pad your bank account.”
But then when the BLM/Antifa riots started, literally overnight the ban on gatherings--attending church or a funeral--which had supposedly been SO absolutely critical to keeping people safe the day before, was suddenly ignored when it came to angry mobs bent on looting and arson.
Not once did any Mainstream Media outlet or talking head accuse the "demonstrators" (the Media's euphemism for arsonists and looters) of endangering anyone's health.
Suddenly the Media saw no risk at all in huge shoulder-to-shoulder crowds. If "demonstrators" wanted to burn businesses down in early June to protest the drug-induced death of a black thug in Minneapolis, suddenly the Media saw no risk. Apparently the Media only wailed about killing grandmothers when a white person wanted to attend church, or work to feed his/her family. Looters and arsonists somehow didn't spread the virus.
And then just as quickly, the Media reversed course yet again, screaming that large gatherings were once again a terrible, awful danger to grandmothers. That happened when Trump rallies began drawing crowds of 100,000 or so. Now the Media described these rallies as "superspreader events."

The crisis would terrorize the middle class--the only people who follow rules--into accepting rules they normally would refuse to obey.

The final stage: "Normalization"
"Normalization" is yet another word that has a far different--and sinister--meaning to communists. To Americans it's a good thing, but as Bezmenov explained, the word had a cynical meaning in Soviet propaganda. When Soviet tanks crushed Czechoslovakia in 1968, comrade Brezhnev said ‘Now the situation in brotherly Czechoslovakia is ‘normalized.’"

The idea was that the new order--an all-powerful government, with no rights for citizens (unless members of a protected group)--would become "the new normal." Americans would never be able to recover the rights they lost. Eventually as Democrat leaders like the corrupt Biden gained power, they would be co-opted thru bribery or blackmail to do as the communists demanded.
