How the Mainstream Media got voters to believe the U.S. lost to Iran
As everyone with an IQ over 80 who's not a brain-dead Democrat knows, the Lying Mainstream Media absolutely hates Donald Trump and the U.S. military, and will say/write/broadcast absolutely anything to hurt or discredit both.
Thus no one should be surprised that just a month after the "conflict" with Iran started, the Lying Mainstream Media already, unequivocally DECLARED that Iran defeated the U.S.
Seriously. The leftist-ruled Media knew the best way to win Democrat control of congress in November--the top goal of the Democrat Partei right now--was to get voters to believe Iran had defeated the U.S, because that would make Trump look weak and stupid. And because the media will never give President Trump credit for, or support on, any issue, they've spent months attacking the war. Let's take a look at some of the reporting from earlier this year to see exactly what the Lying Media was saying:
June 28, the Wall Street Journal: Op-ed titled "Iran is Winning the Battle of Hormuz";
June 3, CNN: "'Their new nuclear option': Why Iran's influence over the Strait of Hormuz is here to stay";
June 30, Washington Post: "Iran's leverage over Strait of Hormuz snarls Trump's push for a deal";
May 19, Associated Press: "Trump's tough-talk foreign policy is hitting a wall with Iran as it grips Strait of Hormuz";
March 18, Bloomberg: "Iran Moves Its Own Oil Through Hormuz as It Chokes Other Traffic";
April 8, Reuters: “As Trump claims victory, Iran emerges bruised but powerful with leverage over Hormuz”
April 6, New York Times: "The War Is Turning Iran Into a Major World Power."
On September 28, however, it became clear that oil exports from the Persian Gulf had returned to near pre-war levels while Iranian exports have, quite literally, hit zero.
Mainstream Media: "Hey, did you guys see how faaaabulous Iran is doing? Their economy is doing SO well, despite Orange Hitler ordering his fascist troops to bomb schools, hospitals and food depots! An' a few of ya may have seen stories claiming that thanks to the U.S. Navy, oil exports thru the Straits were back to 95% of pre-war levels. This is nonsense: This number is almost certainly fictitious! We have no idea where that number came from, but we're sure it's wrong! Cuz if it was right, duh U.N. an' duh BBC would have confirmed it! An' dey din' doodat, so we know the claim is wrong!
We know dat cuz if dey had contradictory info dey wud have said so! Cuz duh Media iz, like, totally committed to honest, totally unbiased, responsible journalism!
"See, since duh U.S. cannot possibly defeat the superior military strategy and will of Iran's rulers, duh only way we can end the 'conflict' is to surrender to Iran an' pull all U.S. troops out of the Mid-east! Dis will make the world safer and bettah! Yep yep yep!
