AOC claims the U.S. senate was "founded on, uh, y'know, Jim Crow"
A few years ago I wouldn't have spent time writing about AOC. But with the DSA having won half a dozen primaries in the last month, time to re-visit that.
DSA members don't know anything about U.S. history. Fortunately that's one of AOC's areas of expertise.
Recently she enlightened us with this gem of leftist/DSA thinking: "The U.S. Senate was founded on, uh, you know, Jim Crow."
"Jim Crow laws" emerged in the mid 1880s. The character by that name existed in the 1820s as a minstrel routine. By contrast, the senate was written into the Constitution in 1789.
But now that the brilliant AOC--the leading DSA member for president--haz declared that the senate "was founded on, uh, you know, Jim Crow," guess the history books will have to be revised.
