Anyone else think America is under attack from within?

 The United States of America.  Wow, what a great ride it's been!  

Greatest nation ever.  Thanks to our brilliant Founders, and the ideas of some of the greatest thinkers of their age, we inherited a system that enabled plumbers and assembly-line workers to own air-conditioned homes, cars and speedboats.  Anyone could try to accomplish damn near anything, and many succeeded.

Unfortunately, while good people were working hard and trying to raise their kids right, other forces were also hard at work, working to destroy our culture.  You've heard of most of these destroying movements:  deadly drugs, and addicts that will kill to get their next fix; identity politics, neo-Marxism, class warfare, envy, political correctness, radical environmentalism, the “climate change” scam, screaming demands for "equality of outcomes," regardless of effort; deleting anyone who dared to oppose the elites, "diversity" regardless of merit; anti-meritocracy, open borders, chain immigration-- the list is endless.  All hint at the approaching disintegration of our society, and with it, the decline of all Western civilization.

In his must-read book "Slouching Towards Gomorrah," Robert Bork identified a group of collectivist attitudes that seemed to be shared by U.S. elites: a sneering dismissal of the traditional family, a “left-liberal moral consensus” and the willful disregard of our great Constitution.

In his twelve-volume (!) work, "A Study of History,"Arnold Toynbee posited that once social devastation had passed a certain critical point, recovery would be impossible.  Many historians believed we were already there.

Since 1960 or so, the core principles of the West--personal freedom, free speech, fair elections--have been under assault.  Faux "intellectuals" have gotten away with labelling the virtues of our system as vices.  This trend was pushed hard by academics, who almost certainly knew they were lying.

There can be little doubt that right now the forces of totalitarianism are winning.  We may be past the point of recovery.  But brave people who believe their culture is worth fighting to defend will fight to the end.  

By fighting, we buy time--time for young Americans, corrupted by their professors and elites, to re-learn eternal truths.

One look at the dozens of mugshots of the Antifa crazies of Portland or Seattle is enough to let you see the warped, drug-addled minds, seething with hate, that are behind the destruction.  Liberal judges and DA's keep letting them out, and they keep destroying things.  It's crazy, and yet there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it.

Cowards and parasites appear to be winning--and our self-proclaimed elites cheer. Nation-saviors like Churchill and Thatcher are scorned, while men like Trump, trying hard to help working people, are sneeringly derided as crude, betrayed by friends and colleagues and openly cheated of re-election.  And Democrats cheer wildly.

America as we've known it is under attack.  But for those of us who still care and recognize the precious, unique gift we were given, the fight will go on.
